Ruby left the house alone, feeling sad as she waited for the taxi. Miguel's disappointment was still with her, but she tried to ignore it and focus on getting to her therapy. However, halfway through the trip, a dizziness overtook her and before she could react, she fainted. The taxi driver, visibly scared, didn't know what to do; his mind was racing as he sought help. Without hesitation, he dialed 911, his voice shaking as he explained the situation. After a while, an ambulance arrived and the paramedics rushed to check on her. Noticing the bracelet that indicated her cancer status, their expression turned serious and determined. They knew time was of the essence, so they transported her quickly, while the taxi driver watched helplessly from the sidewalk, feeling the weight of Ruby's life in his hands. The taxi driver accompanied her since he said there was no one there, so he followed them in the taxi to check on her.

In the ambulance, the paramedics worked quickly and precisely. Ruby, unconscious, was surrounded by bright lights and urgent voices. One of the paramedics placed an oximeter on her finger and began checking her vital signs. "We need to stabilize her," he said, while another prepared an IV. The bracelet identifying her illness was a reminder of how fragile her situation was. Meanwhile, Miguel, who had been waiting for messages on his phone, began to feel uneasy. The thought that Ruby had gone out alone haunted him. A few minutes later, he received a call from an unknown number. It was the taxi driver, who, after introducing himself, explained what had happened. Miguel felt like his world was falling apart. "Is she okay? Where is she?" he asked, his voice shaking with worry. "They're taking her to the hospital. I don't know anymore," the driver replied, his tone filled with nervousness.

Miguel looked at the girl who tried to stop him, feeling the pressure of her insistence. "I'll be right back, I have to go see her," he said firmly, but she didn't give up. "Miguel, why don't you stay here for a while? There are other things you could do, there's no reason to worry so much. You can enjoy the company and forget about Ruby for a moment," she suggested, trying to lure him into a distraction. However, each word rang hollow to him. Miguel felt a mix of frustration and confusion; although he appreciated her company, as he needed it so much. The girl had only recently entered his life, but he kept saying, "Ruby needs me now." The girl frowned, trying to understand his perspective. "But don't you think it's time to move on? Life doesn't stop, Miguel. You need to have some fun," she insisted, but he had already made his decision.

He drove off to the hospital where the taxi driver was with Ruby. Upon arriving, he approached the emergency room and asked for information about Ruby. The receptionist looked at him with a mix of compassion and professionalism. "She's in the emergency room. She'll need a moment," she said. Miguel felt desolate, waiting in a waiting room full of anxious faces, praying that Ruby would get through this okay. The taxi driver approached Miguel, a worried expression on his face. "She felt bad, she looked sad," he said, and those words struck a chord with Miguel. Every minute that passed felt like an eternity, and guilt consumed him for not being there when she needed him most. Suddenly, he realized how important Ruby was to him and how much he had taken her support for granted. At that moment, he decided that he would not let fun and boredom take him away from her again.

Finally, when he made it into the emergency room, his heart stopped as he saw her hooked up to monitors, surrounded by doctors working quickly and efficiently. A deep fear filled him, but he knew that, from that moment on, everything would change for him. Just then, the doctor came out and called Ruby's family. Miguel, along with the taxi driver who had been his salvation, approached, anxious to know how she was. "How are you?" Miguel asked, his voice shaking. The doctor's answer would mark the beginning of a new chapter in his life, one that would force him to face his true feelings and priorities. The doctor looked at Miguel and the taxi driver seriously. "The truth is, because of how Ruby feels and the changes she has experienced in her body, we need to do more checkups. She is currently in care, and you will not be able to see her for the moment," he explained, his tone professional but empathetic. "We are trying to determine the cause of her fainting and what could have happened. I ask that you wait outside while we continue with the checkups." Miguel felt a knot in his stomach as he heard the doctor's words. Worry for Ruby filled him; he knew her health was fragile and that every minute counted. He turned to the taxi driver, who seemed just as worried as he was. "Thank you for bringing me here," Miguel murmured, feeling a deep appreciation for the support he had received. As they drove away from the emergency area, anxiety took hold of him. He sat down in one of the chairs in the hallway, his mind filled with questions about Ruby's condition. The idea that something serious could be happening terrified him. "I just hope she's okay," he said, feeling anguish engulf him. "I can't lose her." At that moment, he understood that he had to be there for her, no matter what. After six hours of uncertainty, the doctors finally emerged with a more relaxed expression. "Ruby just fainted due to an emotional change and because she hadn't taken one of her pills," the doctor explained. "She just needs to take care of herself, everything is fine. She just needs to rest." Hearing this, Miguel felt a deep relief, but his joy was short-lived. He approached the room where Ruby was recovering, but when he saw her, she waved him away, her gaze distant. At that moment, Ruby appeared and approached the taxi driver, asking him to take her to her therapies.
