The room felt colder, suffused with tension and silence, suffocating Zain with the enormity of what he had just witnessed. His mind struggled to comprehend the situation, a whirlwind of conflicting emotions-betrayal, pain, disbelief and a deep consuming sorrow. He felt a mix of rage, hot and blinding, coursing through his veins like fire and a deep aching sadness that threatened to overwhelm him. His chest heaved with the effort to contain the storm raging inside him. His hands clenched into fists, nails digging into his palms as he stood rooted there, numb and dumbfounded, unable to react.

"Zain it's not wh..." Zoya begins explaining, holding his hand in an attempt to coax him but to her shock he yanks her hand away mercilessly, catching her off guard.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!!!!" His high pitched infuriated voice made her flinch with fright. She stared at him in disbelief, his deep black eyes were blazing with fire and rage, mirroring his inner turmoil. The intensity of rage that can burn the entire world.

"Calm down man, will you???" Zain snapped his gaze towards Adeel and his face darkened even more. After literally deceiving him in the worst way possible, he was freaking telling him to calm down, the audacity!!!

"How dare you bastard!!!" The last thread of Zain's patience broke as he marched towards him and landed a hard punch on his face. It was too harsh that Adeel's nose and mouth started bleeding. Zoya gasped at that however she couldn't stop him. Before Zain could break his face and beat the crap outta him, Adeel was fast enough to save himself defensively by blocking his fists. He was expecting such a wild reaction from Zain, he came all prepared.

"We were about to tell you!!!" Adeel stated, breathing heavily. Blood oozing out from his nose constantly, straining his shirt but he couldn't do anything about it yet.

"Tell me what??" Zain growled, jerking his hands off him. His breath came in short, ragged gasps. His chest surged up and down as he struggled to steady his frantic breathing.

"That we have been seeing each other secretly for a while now. We have been in love from the very start but you came between us. We had tried our best to forget each other when you two got married but couldn't restrain ourselves and eventually ended up together."

Upon listening to him, Zain stepped back in reflex with another shock while Zoya's jaw dropped at his words. She stared at Adeel, speechless. How effortlessly he was uttering such lies without any shame and guilt.

"Tell him the truth Zoya, don't hesitate!!!"

Zain glanced at his wife, hoping whatever he had heard to be false. Zoya shook her head vigorously in denial and before she could speak in her defense, Adeel beat it to her.

"I know you won't believe me, I can show you the proof." He retrieved his phone from his jeans pocket and showed him a few edited intimate pictures of him and Zoya from the Hotel and other restaurants, posing it as if they had been on several dates, enjoying themselves.

As Zain saw those familiar pictures which he hadn't believed before, He could feel a hot flush of anger creeping up his neck but more than that a deep gnawing pain, pain of betrayal.

Had everything they shared until now been a lie, all fake???

He wouldn't have believed those pictures if he'd not witnessed them together today in their bedroom. Who knows what they had been doing behind closed doors.

He had trusted her, loved her with everything he had and now that trust was shattered like a glass. The weight of the betrayal pressed down on him. He could feel the tears stinging his eyes but he fought them back, unwilling to show his weakness.

"Why?? Tell me why you did this with me Zoya?? If you love him you could've told me I'd have free you from this relationship, from this burden. Have I ever restricted you from doing anything?? Then why the hell did you have to cheat me like that huh? I freaking trusted you!!!" Zain demanded answers, his voice shivering with hurt, pain and agony. He had never felt vulnerable like that before. he was right. Betrayal always comes from the closest person you trust the most. Strangers don't test you as much as your own people break you in the worst way possible.
