Benatars Day Out

It's been about two weeks since I've been here, these days I've been spending time with Axel and sometimes with his grandmother. It hasn't been bad at all, said for some unjust remark from the brunette but other than that I'm starting to get adjusted.

When Axel was sick, 'probably from that salty river' his grandmother said I should go out and visit the area while she took care of the lll metal head. I took her offer and got myself more familiar with this place which was easy to do since Axel's grandmother seems to live in a small town, only locals are around and it's quite nice not to be in a crowded place. 'What a nice change in scenery' I thought to myself.

I visited a few places too, like a nice little park, a local art exhibit, and even a small pub that surprisingly was quiet too especially with no unwanted brawls or mysterious green drinks. Canada here is really peaceful, I can see why Axel's grandmother lived here. Speaking of his grandmother, this morning I went on a short stroll to a park and saw some fresh berries so I picked a few for her.

Knock knock

"Oh hello Benatar, had a nice walk?" Axel's grandmother said with a smile.

"Yes, I also picked these fresh berries for you"

She thanked me and said she would get a bowl for the berries. I sat on a chair by the kitchen counter and waited while she washed a bowl, humming a tune. I noticed Axel wasn't up yet, but I suppose that's because I tend to wake up very early.

"You know I hope those aren't poison berries"

"Oh-um no I'm sure they're not" I looked at the berries again making sure they in fact were not.

"Oh ha, I'm kidding dear, I know exactly where you got them, it is a beautiful park isn't it?"

"Yes it quite is" she placed a nice washed bowl in front of me and I dropped a handful of berries inside of it.

"Sometimes I go pick a few fresh berries from there too, it makes great for baked goods without breaking the bank" she chuckled as she rubbed her wet hands with a piece of cloth.

"You know, sometimes I don't trust Axel with those things"

"What? With picking berries?" I asked.

"Yes, I love my grandson but most times he can be easily distracted or have difficult time understanding instructions, like when he was younger I asked him to pick strawberries from our backyard but he came back with poisonous mushrooms instead" Axel grandmother continued as she placed a piece of lemon pound cake in front of me 'Ooo cake'

"I'm just so glad my little Axelot have such bright friends though" 'DeeJay maybe, but Puff is more questionable and wait Axelot?? Pfft"

"Not to mention how difficult it was for him to make friends" Axel had a difficult time making friends? That's surprising.

"Waf do you mean" my mouth was full of cake and I finally swallowed the piece.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to talk with my mouth full"

"Oh haha it's okay, Axel does that a lot and I always try to remind him not to but that boy never listens" She handed me a glass of cool milk and I instantly gulped it down. 'Oh how I love you milk'

"It's a sore subject for him but growing up, Axel rarely talked to anyone and I'll usually see him outside playing by himself. He would get into trouble too, especially at school where he'll get into frequent fights with other peers, even sometimes the teachers. It got so bad that he eventually had to move away" I can hear the sadness in her voice which made me feel sorry for her and even Axel.
