Boarding the plane, listening to music, looking at the stars in the sky. Not realizing my eyes were slowly closing. I suddenly woke up to my mom waking me up. "Alzati tesoro, siamo qui" (get up sweetie, we're here) my mother (galilea) says. I open my eyes realizing the sunlight is out, 9 hours have passed by so fast. Still couldn't believe we're moving here, it hasn't hit me just yet. We get off, grabbed all our belongings and as we walk out the airport we see someone waving at us. My mother smiles and waves back. I still had no idea who it was. We got closer and my mother said "Ciao Rossi, è da tanto che non ci vediamo, mi sei mancanto" (Hello Rossi, longtime no see, I missed you)
"aww mi sei mancato anche tu, Gali" (Aww I missed you too, Gali) Mrs. Rossi replied.
"Ale, this is Mrs.Rossi, Niccolo's and Camila's mother, you might not remember them as much". My mother said. "Ale" is a nickname my mother has always called me, since I was small. My dad as well but he sadly passed away 1 year ago, I still miss him so much. I never knew what was really going on with his life. I don't really say it like if he wasn't in my life, ofc he was it's just that him and my mom always spoke to each other secretly as if they were hiding something. But as I stare at Mrs.Rossi, she stares back, we both smile.
"Ciao Alessia, I remember when you were just a little girl" I smile again and replied with "Ciao Mrs.Rossi". Of course my mother and father had taught me Italian. My mom and I always speak to each other in both languages, English and Italian. Sometimes even in Spanish but rarely. Mrs. Rossi is helping us put our luggage in her car, my mom and her were just talking about our house. They were saying how we will be staying at Mrs and Mr. Rossi's house for a while. I just nodded and continued looking out the window, and ofc I had my headphones on like always, listening to "Run baby 8d" as we were on the way to her house. Seeing the new town I will be living in for who knows how long maybe the next few years or maybe even forever. I forgot how beautiful Rome was. We passed by a school with students in school still. It was around 11:00 a.m. I had all these thoughts in my head not realizing my mom had been calling my name. "alessia" "alessia" I finally heard and left my thoughts "sì" I replied back . "We're here, wake up" she said.
I sighed, I got out the car took my bags and went to the trunk to get my luggage out. We entered her house, I was observing every piece of the house. A man appears which I assume is Mr. Rossi. "Ciao Rossi" my mom says and she goes and gives him a hug. He smiles and then says hi to me. They showed us around the house, the house was pretty big, I was amazed. My mom and I had our own room which I was surprised. I thought we would've shared but they had 3 guest rooms. I put all my stuff down inside my room. We all went to the dining room. Mr. Rossi had made Pasta while we were on the way here, we sat at the dining table.
"Alessia, como ti trovi qui finora ?" (How do you like it here so far) Mr.Rossi had asked
"Welll it's nice so far, haven't been here in forever, I'm just kinda nervous.." i said replying back to him. " it's okay Alessia, Nico and Cami are here to help you out and talking about them i signed you up to go to school, they'll also be showing you around school" school... I haven't thought about school until after Mrs.Rossi said. I don't know how to feel, ofc ima have to be going to school here but it just doesn't feel right. "Oh okay grazie" i said. My mom and the Rossi's were drinking wine, laughing together and just talking about their life. I finished my food and dismissed myself. I got a notification, i opened my phone and it was my bestfriend Sarah
sarah: hi alee, how is it so far ? I miss you 💕
ale: hey saraa, I miss you too!!! Well it's different yk, I'm not quite comfortable yet. Mrs. Rossi just told me she signed me up for school, I'm nervous. I won't be having anyone to talk to
Sarah: I'm sure it'll be fine, what about her two kids that are your same age ? I'm sure they'll show you around and hang out with you
Ale: yeah she said they will be showing me around but idk about hanging out. Im sure they have their own friend groups :/ okay bye ttyl!!
I took a nap, I quickly woke up when i heard a voice " mamma, papà siamo a casa"
