NICO'S POV

A week has passed and Percy still hasn't left my side. We haven't forgotten about our mission, I mean, if we did, the whole demigod world would probably die out without the gods. Our leads have led us to Nyx, the only problem was that Nyx was legit the night. Plus, who knows what other night dwellers she's going to bring out into this fight.

I sighed as I dropped my head down onto my desk. Ugh, this research sucks. And Percy is taking way too long with the snacks. I groaned as I got up. I did not want to move right now. But Percy was taking an eternity. Pretty sure the gods know how long that is.

I began walking to the door when I stopped. There were voices outside. I leaned toward the door and listened in on the voices.

"Percy, you have to listen to me," It sounded like Annabeth.

Percy sighed and I could almost hear him run his hands through his hair. "No, Annabeth, I told you-"

"Told me what?" Annabeth was furious and I suddenly felt bad for her. It seems like she's been through a lot. She loved Percy and just a week ago he almost died. Percy barely even talks to her now.

I could almost sense the irritation in Percy's voice when he said, "Annabeth, nothing is wrong with Nico!"

Me?! Whats wrong with me?!

"You have to listen to me, Percy!" Annabeth sounded desperate. "My mother told me! My mom is the freaking goddess of wisdom!"

Footsteps sounded and I'm sure the beating of my heart could be heard by both of them.

"Just because Athena is a goddess of wisdom, doesn't make her an oracle!" Percy growled and I tried to control my hormones, but damn, was that sexy!

From the skies, lightning crashed, dancing in the sky wildly. Seconds passed before Annabeth retorted. "She still gave me a prophecy!"

"How do you even know that's right?!" Percy sounded even more furious than Annabeth at this point. Also at this point, I was starting to believe that I shouldn't be listening. I mean, they were talking about a prophecy and something about me. I didn't want to seemingly put these two puzzle pieces together. I'd rather very much that these pieces didn't go together at all.

"I know its right because it specifically points at one person!" Annabeth said with fury.

"There's another child of Hades, Annabeth," Percy responded calmly.

Another? What?

"Hazel doesn't count, Percy," Annabeth clearly deadpanned and I was ready to bang my head against the door and correct Percy that Hazel was indeed a child of Pluto.

Percy must have punched the door because the door shook violently, causing me to jump back. "Just screw off, Annabeth!"

"No, Percy!" Annabeth retorted hotly. "You are in danger!

Percy's in danger? How?

As if the gods wanted me to know, Percy asked, "How? How is Nico putting me in danger?"

Me?! Great, these puzzle pieces are about me after all.

Annabeth sighed. "Look Percy, one of the lines in the prophecy she gave me was, The Bird of Ill Omen shall threat the Stallion. Percy, you are the stallion. Poseidon's sacred animal is the horse. Nico is the bird. Hades sacred animal is a screech owl. He is putting your in peril, Percy!"

"No, he is not, Annabeth!"

The two continued to argue and I could only stand there and stare at my shoes. Was all this really true? Was I really putting Percy's life in danger?

I stepped back away from the door quickly, my thoughts a mess. I have to go. I can't stay here! In a frenzy like state, I grabbed a large duffel bag and began stuffing it with clothes. There's no way I can be near Percy when I'm putting him in danger. But... What if there really was another child of Hades. I stopped my actions, my hands clutching the things in my bag.

Shaking my head, I continued my action. There was no way. Not since... Bianca. Shaking my head, I zipped up the bag and quickly made my way to a shadow. Glancing at my door, I quickly strode to it and locked it. I made my way back to the shadow and looked down at the research papers. Should I leave a message? I took a step toward the paper but froze when the door started shaking.

"Nico?" Percy called out from the other side of the door.

I needed to go to the door. You're putting him in danger.

I pressed my back against the wall and watched as Percy struggled behind the door. He was calling out my name desperately but I could only shake my head. I had to leave. Now. If I didn't, I'd be running over to the door and jumping into Percy's arms. But I couldn't do that. Not when I put him in danger, I couldn't let another person who I love die because of me.

Before Percy could kick the door down, I vanished into the shadows.

When Percy finally got the door down, he was breathing hard and his heart was beating even faster. Percy searched the entire room, flipping over desks and beds when he began to get frustrated when he couldn't find Nico.

Campers began to file in near the door when the lake began to turn stormy. "Where is he?!"

If no one calmed Percy down, he's be dowsing the entire camp in water soon. Chiron's hooves sounded against the floor as Percy continued to search helplessly.

"Percy." Chiron watched with sad eyes as Percy continued to search for his lover. "He is not here, Percy,"

"No," Percy fell to his knees and stared at the ground. "Why? Why would he..."

The sea churned violently and water began rising slowly. Percy rose and stalked outside and headed straight to the Athena cabin. Chiron followed quickly but couldn't stop Percy and he flung open the door and roared, "You did this!"

The children of Athena scattered quickly as Percy strode to Annabeth. She managed to mask her emotions with a blank stare yet she herself was contained with fear. "What happened?"

"Nico is gone!" Percy's fist collided with the nearby wall and Annabeth's mask slipped.

"What?" Annabeth's tone was surprised and Percy wanted to punch her.

"Yes, Annabeth's he's gone!"  Percy was visibly fuming and Annabeth only then realized how much he really did care about Nico. "He probably heard us!"

Annabeth stared up at Percy in shock. "But... Why would he leave?"

Percy glared at her icily and she froze as if every blood vessel in her body was frozen. Percy walked out and Annabeth remained frozen before her knees gave out and she stared at Percy's retreating form. Did he just... Stop the blood in her body?

The water was still relentless as the skies faded from gray to black  as lightning danced in the sky. It began to rain. Over the hill, Peleus raised his head in the rain and stared at the figure walking up the hill. Shoulder length black hair, and flashing yellow eyes in slits. Walking up to the dragon, she pressed her hand against the dragons neck and smiled. "Your scales are truly beautiful,"

Reaching the top of the hill, Leilah Atkinson stared down at the cabins and smiled. "Where are you, Brother? Father said that you'd be here!"
