➤ ( CHAPTER 029 ! )
" a day to remember "IT SURLY WAS A DAY TO REMEBER. The smell of smoke engulfed Shousuke lung as he found it hard to breath, His heart pounded in his chest, and his breaths came in shallow, uneven gasps. The sight of his house.
His legs felt weaker then they did before, and the ground seemed to tilt beneath him. The chaotic noise of crackling flames and distressed voices grew distant, replaced by a deafening roar in his ears.
The frantic sounds of the crowd, the desperate shouts for help—it all merged into a dizzying blur.
Suddenly, Shousuke's vision began to narrow, the edges of his sight darkening. His hands trembled uncontrollably, and he felt an overwhelming sense of claustrophobia. His chest tightened painfully, as though a heavy weight was pressing down on him.
"Shousuke?" Shoto's voice cut through the haze of panic, but it sounded distant and muffled.
Shousuke tried to respond, but his throat was tight, and no words came out. His breaths grew more erratic, each inhale sharp and gasping.
He felt the familiar signs of a panic attack setting in—his surroundings spinning, his heart racing, and an almost paralyzing sense of fear.
His vision blurred, and he stumbled, his legs buckling beneath him. The flames, the smoke, the cries of the onlookers—they all seemed to close in on him. Desperate to escape the suffocating anxiety, Shousuke sank to the ground, his hands clutching at his head as if trying to hold himself together.
"Shousuke, stay with me!" Shoto's voice was louder now, filled with concern. He reached out, grabbing Shousuke's shoulders.
The contact snapped Shousuke back to some semblance of reality. He looked up at Shoto, his eyes wide and filled with fear. The panic was still there, but Shoto's presence provided a small anchor amidst the chaos.
Shoto, despite his own pain, knelt beside Shousuke, trying to steady his friend. "Breathe, Shousuke. In through your nose, out through your mouth. Focus on me."
Shousuke's breaths were ragged, but he made an effort to follow Shoto's instructions. Slowly, the panic began to recede, though the fear and disorientation lingered. He leaned heavily on Shoto, who helped him sit up, offering as much support as he could.
Shousuke's breathing had steadied, but the pain and shock of seeing his home destroyed were still raw. He felt a deep urge to save something, anything, from the fire. Ignoring Shoto's worried protests, Shousuke's resolve hardened.
Without a word, Shousuke's eyes narrowed with resolve. The fire had consumed his home, but there was a flicker of hope—no fear as he though about his mum that was in the house all day long. He pushed himself away from Shoto, who tried to hold him back.
"Shousuke, don't!" Shoto's voice was filled with desperation and concern. "It's too dangerous!"
"Stop! It's too dangerous!"
