Chapter 1
"Matt! no!" She giggles. He grins and replies,
"Yes Julie?"
She giggles more in response, "Matt.. you weirdo, stop!"
His fingers trace hearts along her waist, as he gently pushes her backwards into the waist high grass.
"Aww, why?" he smirks.
She giggles more and pushes against his chest playfully. He winks, just before he brings his mouth down to hers, and presses his lips to hers firmly.
A shot goes off behind them, and they jump away in fear.
They both jump up and look into each others eyes, the fear and shock showing in both. Matt reaches for Julie's hand and holds it firmly while searching the area. He quietly tiptoes towards the clearing with Julie at his heels.
"Matt, I'm scared,"she mumbles in fear to the back of his head.
"Shhh," he whispers. "Me to." They sneak quickly and quietly out of the clearing and tiptoe to their car. Matt stops dead in his tracks with his mouth a gape, and Julie walks into his now still form.
"Matt," she whispers. "Whats wr-" her words catch in her throat and her jaw drops in shock. A man dressed in all black drops a gun next to the limp body lying on the pavement and stares at Julie and her husband. Julie viciously shakes Matt's arm and screams in fear, but Matt doesn't respond just stares at the man's face where a smile is beginning to form.
"Julie, get the car started," he says calmly to his wife, before looking her dead in the eyes. She nods and runs to the car crying, before getting in and starting it. She jumps out the door and runs to the other side yelling for her husband to get in. Matt hesitates, and then runs as fast as he can to his car and jumps in. He puts the car in drive, and stomps on the gas. The car jolts to life and speeds through the deserted parking lot.
Julie's crying begin to die as reality begins to kick in. She opens the clasp to her purse and reaches in searching for her cell phone.
"What are you doing Julie?"
"I'm looking for my phone," she replies her voice still a bit shaky. Her hand wraps around her phone and pulls it out. She flips open her phone and begins to dial 911, but the phone dies just as shes about to hit the last 1.
"Shit!" she mumbles frustrated.
"What?"
"The phone died," she groans. Matt groans too,
"Just our luck."
Their car signals right and turns off the freeway into the town of Maples. Matt looks both ways before turning into the nearest gas station, and then jumps out. Matt runs in towards the door and forces them open.
"I need to use your phone!"
"There's a pay phone near the washrooms to your left," the women behind the counter answers confused.
"Thank you," he mumbles before turning and running to the phone. He picks up the phone, dials 911, and puts fifty cents in.
"Hello, this is 911 emergency, how can I help you?"
"Hello! I have to report a murder!"
"Okay sir, can you give us all the info you know of?"
"Yes, me and my wife just witnessed a murder on 113 Strandcell street, a male umm.. Caucasian was wearing all black and killed someone with a gun."
"Was the body male or female?"
"I don't know, I was to far away to tell."
"Okay thank you sir, I need you to do me a favor and stay calm. Do you have another number we can reach you by if we have more questions?" A hand snaked around his arm and hugged onto it. Matt jumped , but only to notice his shaking wife looking up at him.
"Sir?"
"I got to go, bye," he hung up the phone while looking into his wife's eyes.
"Come here," he said softly. She released his arm and walked into his chest. He wraps his arms around her waist, and gently places soft kisses on her head.
"Well.. so much for sex, eh?" he whispers so only the two of them can hear it. Julie laughs into his chest before pulling away and looking up at him.
"We still can."
Matt laughs and kisses her head more before they decide to leave and go home.
Julie reaches down and grabs a hold of Matt's blistering hand, and strokes it with her thumb. Julie releases his hand to grab a bag of lays chips and two cans of apple juice from the self and hands them to Matt with a big smile on her face. Matt returns the smile before turning and going to the women at the counter, while Julie goes to look at the magazines crowding the one shelf.
"Your total comes to seven dollars and sixteen cents," she announces. Matt pays the lady and thanks her before calling for his wife and leaving. Matt turns on the car and rives back onto the freeway while Julie opens the bag of chips and pops some in her mouth.
"Want some Hun?" she says through a mouthful.
"Sure," he opens his mouth and turns to her but doesn't take his eyes off the road. Julie puts some chips into his awaiting mouth and closes it shut. Matt munches loudly on his chips making Julie laugh aloud.
"What?" he asks confused.
"Nothing," she replies. " Lets just go home," she laughs more.
After another ten minutes Matt flips on his turning signal and exits the freeway, and they arrive in their town. Matt takes a left, followed by a quick right, and they arrive on their street. He follows the road for a good five minutes all the way down, and then takes another right onto their driveway. He turned off the car and pulled the keys out of the ignition, while Julie got out and gathered their stuff. The both closed their doors and walked to the door.
Matt locked the car at the door before unlocking their home door. Matt unlocks it with Julie waits patiently at his side holding their purchase of the day. They both walk in and take off their shoves before Matt turns on his heel and stares into her beautiful eyes. She smiles shyly at her husband and drops their purchase on the table. Matt's eyes roam her body , and rest on her chest. She grins, and moves to him carefully pushing him in the living room and onto the couch.
Matt bites his bottom lip as he watches his wife take two steps back and slowly undress in front of him, leaving her bra and panties on. She walks back to him and lies him down so she can crawl on top of him. Matt moans in pure bliss, while he leaves a trail of kisses down her neck.
This would be a night neither of them would forget.
