Chapter 7 : The Haldi and Mehndi ceremony

The sun shone brightly on the day of the haldi ceremony, casting a warm glow over the bustling streets of the city. Chandni woke up early, feeling like a princess on her wedding day.

She stretched her arms and yawned, still basking in the happiness of the previous night's events. Her heart fluttered at the thought of Vidyut and the promise he had made to make every day special for her.

As she got out of bed, her mother, bestie and sister rushed in, carrying trays of sweet and savory treats. "Today's the day, Chandni! Our little girl is taking another step towards getting married and soon she will leave us." her mother exclaimed, tears of joy welling up in her eyes.

Chandni blushed, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. She said "Oh! Mummy but now I am still here. Don't make me feel like stranger!".She knew that the haldi ceremony marked the beginning of her journey with Vidyut, and she couldn't wait to start this new chapter.

The house was filled with the sweet aroma of turmeric, sandalwood, and rose petals as the women of the family began preparing the haldi paste. Chandni's cousin sister Rooh and her bestie Shivani , giggled and chatted as they applied the paste to Chandni's skin, making her laugh and squirm.

Meanwhile, Vidyut was going through a similar ritual at his own home, surrounded by his male relatives and friends. His best friend, Kiaan, teased him good-naturedly, saying, "Today's the day, Vidyut! You're finally getting hitched!"

Karan also joined saying"yes Bhai and after few days his bachelor life will came to end".he started laughing at that thought.

Kiaan joined him saying "And then he will a married man. I feel so bad for those girls out there waiting for him Bechari!! "

Next Karan  " Don't worry Bhai I know that for them you and me are here!! "

Vidyut said hearing him"kiaan and girls not way!! They are like South and North poles". Saying this he starts laughing while kiaan said "Shut up"

Karan "Why Bhaiya? Is he not interested in girls?". Hearing him kiaan gave him a look. While vidyut can't stop laughing.

Karan slowly whispers Vidyut" Is he a gay? ". Before Vidyut could reply, Kiaan said in a loud and cold voice " Shut up you guys!! I am totally straight and good!"

Next vidyut's Mother's voice came " Come on young men, please close your mouth now and let us do the haldi ceremony peaceful "

Later after few seconds she turned to kiaan and saying " Why didn't you get married then they will stop teasing you because of this topic. If you want I can suggest you few girls also! ".

Kiaan said " Not you also mom first mummy and Dadi were chanting this that's why I am here and please I don't want to get married now".

"Ok ok but we are saying for your good only but nevermind. " Saying this she turned and continue doing her rituals.

Meanwhile Vidyut grinned, feeling a sense of calm wash over him. He knew that he was meant to be with Chandni, and he couldn't wait to make her his wife.

As the morning wore on, Chandni's house was filled with the sound of laughter, music, and chatter. The women of the family sang traditional wedding songs, their voices blending in harmony.
