The Belmont was indeed a pain in the ass. Zaros has followed him around for half a day, listening in on his conversation with the bishop of Gresit, then hearing him banter with the Speaker Magician, then drinking with the others. And eventually agreeing to help them fight off the townsfolk and the night creatures.

This was a recipe for disaster. Belmont and the Speaker had to find Adrian sooner than later so they could put an end to this genocide. But with the way things were going, they weren't getting any closer to reaching the end of the catacombs.

Why, for Satan's sake, were people so fucking complicated.

They just needed a little encouragement.

Zaros groaned, laying back on the house's roof, his legs stretched out, hands over his eyes. He felt like the sun was dissing his brain and pissing on everything that it had lit with its rays. Good thing night was close by because he really didn't know how he would survive another few hours out in the open.

Years ago, Dracula gave him an amulet to do his job better. In other words, Dracula had taken care for him to not have any excuses for not killing the people he was paid to. Which means if he was wearing that amulet, he was saved from the rays of the sun.

Commotion rose through the air and Zaros positioned himself better so he could watch as the people of the church and the other folk living in the town ambushed the house, ordering the speakers to come out and leave Gresit. Zaros perked up and eyebrow and made sure to lean in more over the edge of the roof to hear what was going on. He really didn't need to do this thanks to his hearing, but being dramatic for extra effect always made him curl his toes like a teenage girl with a crush.

He lived for everything amusing and entertaining, aside from the alcohol and drugs that were often either in his system or about to enter it. He believed he always had a flare for being an actor too, he did take part in a few shows back in the day. But then killing became his hobby and soon enough profession.

Zaros's red locks flew in the wind as his red eyes scanned the crowd that was forming. Then the Belmont came out, talking about what not and turning the game around. Zaros almost thought about getting involved but being discreet was one of his strong traits, so he changed his mind. Also, the Belmont was holding himself pretty good.

Belmont talked, the others screamed back, Zaros took a flask out of his pocket and popped the bottle open, drinking what felt like heaven after such a Hell of a day.

Then life decided to be a bitch about his little heaven and the night creatures attacked Gresit. He looked with a mocking smirk at the Belmont and the magician as they gave their best to mobilize the little town to fight. It did have a better result than he had expected, which to be honest surprised him. But if they didn't move their lazy asses down to Adrian's catacombs, they wouldn't have won this war.

So that's what Zaros did. He tampered with the ground they were fighting at, repeatedly slamming the hilt of his knife in the ground, his vampiric power breaking the stone. The moment the night creatures invaded the town, he returned to the shadows.

Then it all went to Hell and back as the ground couldn't hold the weight of the ongoing fight. A pit opened, big enough for the Belmont and the Magician to fall through it and straight towards the mechanism of the catacombs.

Zaros grinned, jumping in after them. It wasn't a surprise that he managed to go down with far more grace than both the man and woman before him. And that was one funny sight to behold. Belmont tried to break their fall with his whip while the Magician manipulated the winds to guide them in something of a controlled fall.

When they finally landed, they didn't talk, only looked around at the moving mechanism. Zaros frowned, they still had more downwards to go. He moved with precision in the dark as he hit a few columns, causing them to shudder and break, falling.
