Ch.1) An unfortunate day

.(oc backround).

My oc's name is Yorokobi Zumi, she was raised well in a house not very far from a village. She also has an older brother named Yorokobi Koso, a 19 year old who is really introverted and doesn't like their parents, since he think they don't care about him. When they were still young, they actually lived in China before moving to Japan. And one night, when Zumi was just 12 years old, the accident occurred.

On a wintery night, her parents asked her to buy some wood to heat up the fireplace, so she went to the village.

Meanwhile her brother, he was reading a book somewhere peacefully, snowflakes slowly falling down from the tree branches. Its odd that he's somewhere alone on a cold night, but that's what he enjoys. He suddenly saw an figure standing behind a tree in the forest infront of him, so he stopped reading and took a closer look. And the figure lunged towards him, Tackling him to the ground. It was an demon, an powerful demon, ready to eat him right up! As it inches its fangs closer, it felt pitiful for him, and decided to turn him into an demon instead. It pulled its face away and stabbed its finger into koso's arm, injecting its blood and leaving Koso all alone again. Koso writhes in pain as his appearance begins to change. His dna turning into one of a demon's and His memories almost completely whipped away.

An hour later..

"Ugh.." He says in exhaustion as he wakes up from his transformation. He has no idea of who he is and feels a sudden urge for blood, he sees an squirrel right beside him and devours it, leaving nothing behind except its bones. Not fully satisfied, he stands up and walks away, eventually seeing an house that felt familiar to him. He opens the door, being greeted by a splash of blood to his face as another demon had just killed the people in that house. His parents.

"B..brother-?"

He looks behind him to see a girl with a terrified expression on her face, its his sister who had just returned home, Zumi. She looks at the decapitated head of her mother rolling across the floor and blood splattered on her brother's face. Although her brother looks different now, she still recognizes him and scolds him angrily as tears stream down her face, soon the sun rises and Koso's skin starts burning away, he quickly runs away to find proper shelter and leaves his sister at the house all alone with dead corpses. Zumi stares at her older brother leaving her, her legs begin to tremble as she falls to her knees, bawling her eyes out and covering her face as she cries her sorrow out from what had happened. After she's done crying, she carefully and quickly drags their bodies outside and buries her parent's bodies under the snow-covered floor. Traumatized, she heads towards the village where her aunt lives and knocks on her door, telling her everything. Zumi now lives with her aunt, forever traumatized.

Zumi had Grown silent very fast after the incident, making her aunt naturally worry about her. And after 2 weeks, Zumi was about to get deja vu about her trauma.

As Zumi was just walking back 'home' from buying groceries at night, she sees an figure running inside an house, hears screams emitting from inside and sees it come back out with a liquid dropping from it, blood.

The figure spots Zumi, and sprints towards her, she quickly runs away but is too slow and the figure catches up to her. Holding her in a chokehold ready to eat her, its blood covered face giving her flashbacks from that night.....that horrible night....

Fear consumes her and she screams for help, her aunt hears it and rushes outside. The figure also sees the aunt and kills her using its long claws. Her organs spilling out of her body as she collapses. Zumi stares in silence, looking at the figure and realizing its an demon. It has two long and pointy horns, pale white skin and strange patterns all over its body.

The demon inches its fangs closer to Zumi, hungry for human flesh. Zumi is completely filled with rage but her fear keeps her frozen in place, She closes her eyes and prays that her death will be quick and painless. She has lost everything she has, she doesn't have anyone anymore, just herself.

Suddenly, the wind starts feeling more intense. A loud thunder coming from the distance, it sounds like its approaching rapidly. The demon looks to where the sound is coming from, and gets its head decapitated. Someone then instantly appears infront of the decapitated demon as its grip around Zumi's neck quickly decreases. Making her almost fall to the floor. Zumi looks over at her aunt and quickly looks away, wanting to forget everything that has happened to her and for everything to go back to how it used to be. She quickly whiles her tears away and the person who decapitated the demon walks towards Zumi, asking if she's okay. She definitely not okay and instantly starts sobbing again.

Meanwhile the body of the demon starts dessintegrating away, the person who killed it walks towards Zumi, asking her a question: "would you like to take revenge?" He asks. Zumi looks at him confused. "H-how....? *she whipes her tears away* the person then explains that he's an demon slayer who's job is to slay creatures like these, demons. He also explains that Zumi can be a demon slayer too to avenge her loved ones, like he is. Zumi accepts and the demon slayer also explains the demon slayer corporation to her and wich types of fighting skills there are. She picks thunder, wich is the style he is using, and brings Zumi to an breath of thunder master, who will be teaching her how to use it and giving her additional information.

Zumi trains for exactly 2 years till her master thinks she's ready to be send to final selection. An event where trainees have to prove to be worthy of becoming an true demon slayer. By fighting and surviving in a forest for 7 days straight.

At the gathering point, where the trainees wait for the event to begin, Zumi spots an girl standing all by herself, and decides to talk to her till the event begins.

"H-hello, I'm Yorokobi Zumi! Id like to know you before final selection begins." She says awkwardly, her master has teached her to be polite no matter what but she hasn't had any human interaction other then with her trainer.

"O-oh! Hi! I'm Lozina Samara, pleasure knowing you!" Samara says as she bows.
Zumi quickly also bows, having forgotten to do so before.
The two of them start talking for a bit till the twins arrive and announce that the event is about to begin.

"Goodluck Zumi, be careful" Samara says to Zumi as they all walk towards the entrance eof the forest.
"Goodluck to you too, Samara."
