With things finally having settled down, the planning and preparation for Corentin and Kresimira's wedding was underway. Midway through the week leading up to the ceremony, Corentin was busy working on the rings. Hearing a hammer pounding on something, Barna went downstairs to see what was up.
"Boy, what are you up to? Shouldn't you be at the rehearsal?"
"I know, I know. It was just that I had a good idea for the rings after a bout of inspiration. I need to get this out of my head..." he replied as he worked with the red hot metal.
Aureolus was eagerly watching. "Yeah, he saw some of the decorations Kresimira and Rose were considering and came right over here."
"Fair enough I suppose," Barna conceded. "You know, the funny thing is that I was just talking with Radovan over the telephone and was about to come down and work on them myself..."
"Speaking of that, do we have a ring bearer and flower girl yet?" Corentin inquired.
"Yes... and no. Aureolus agreed to be the ring bearer. As for the flower girl, well in hindsight maybe I should have made your younger sister I had planned, ha."
Corentin stopped what he was doing. "Excuse me?"
Barna nodded. "I was short on material for obvious reasons back when I made you. From that point on I had the concept at the back of my mind in case you ever got lonely."
"Huh, well then... perhaps you should extend the courtesy of my existence to her too..." He went back to work.
"You want me to work on her? I mean I don't see why not..."
"I'm not against late wedding presents."
Barna laughed. "Alright then, after my trip to Shadowland."
"Anyways, I suppose we'll just have to go without a flower girl, not that big of a deal. How's the planning for the after-party going?"
"Very good. We got the food all squared away and we're getting the presents... ha, the presents are being taken care of as we speak."
Corentin took off his glove and let loose a barrage of lightning from his palm at the second ring. The result was a black ring with glowing pink lines in the form of a rose pattern "Excellent, just what I was expecting..."
Aureolus was amazed. "Incredible... how did you manage something that complex?"
"It comes naturally if you have a vision and the drive to make it. Annoyingly this kind of inspiration isn't always present..."
Barna was thoroughly impressed. "Well done, my boy. You're going to put me out of business at this rate." They both laughed.
Something then crossed Corentin's mind. "Oh, father, something has been bugging me amongst the myriad of other things... I can reproduce, right?"
"Well, I think so. I don't see why you couldn't. I made you with all the bells and whistles after all."
"Brother, I'm pretty sure Kresimira will love you regardless if you can have kids or not" Aureolus pointed out.
Corentin took a breath to relax his nerves. "You know what? You're right. It's just that there's this weird feeling nagging at me, pestering me to have a son with her... Pre-wedding anxiety is fun!"
"Don't worry, Corentin, we all go through this worry at one point or another" Barna reassured him.
"What are you talking about? Gee, dad, where's my mother?"
Barna laughed. "You're going to keep yanking my chain over this until I find you a mom, aren't you?"
Meanwhile, Kresimira was at the grand cathedral, originally for rehearsals. Since Corentin had left for the time being, she figured it was a good opportunity to work on the wedding plans. Naturally she wanted to help out, but she was also incredibly nervous and needed people to vent to.
