Awkward Reunion Dinner

Simon wanted the boys to get together for dinner so that they could catch up with each other. They could talk about their solo careers, go over their plans for the future of the band, and just talk about life.

They all agreed that this was a great idea, so Simon rented out a restaurant for them. He didn't join them though because he figured they needed some time to rekindle the chemistry they all shared while in the band.

Liam, of course, was the first one to show up, at 6:30 sharp. Then, Zayn joined him shortly after. Next came Harry and Niall. Lastly, 30 minutes late, came louis.

  ***Louis' POV***

You might think that me being 30 minutes late is rude, but I promise I wasn't trying to be. I was getting ready to go and freaked out. I couldn't go see Harry after 4 years and just pretend like nothing happened. Would he even want to see me? What if he hates me?

So, after a short pep talk, I pulled myself together and headed off towards the restaurant.

***Niall's POV***

Dinner was terrible. NOT THE FOOD! Food is always good. What was terrible was the awkwardness. Harry and Louis refused to look at and talk to each other. Meanwhile, the rest of the boys and I carried on conversations about our personal lives and the future. Harry and Louis would join in every once in a while, but they wouldn't engage with each other. It was honestly sad to watch.

***Zayn's POV***

I was sat between Louis and Harry. The tension between them was so strong you could have cut it with a knife. All I could do was just awkwardly sit there and silently beg them to awknowledge each other's existence.

***Liam's POV***

Dinner was amazing, minus Harry and Louis' tension. I got to catch up with all the boys. I have talked to them a lot over the years, but haven't seen any of them in person since last year.

It made me sad to watch Harry and Louis pretend like each other didn't exist. A few years ago, they would have been sitting as close as possible and talking in their own little world. Now, despite my desperate attempts to make them talk to each other, they just wouldn't.

***Harry's POV***

I could see what the boys were doing. They all tried to get us to talk, or at least acknowledge each other's existence, in their own way. I'm honestly surprised that they didn't sit so that the only open space when Louis arrived was right next to me.
