Alara lounged on the couch in her friend Ava's living room, surrounded by a tangle of snacks and empty soda cans. Alice and Ava were sprawled around her, debating the best tracks on the latest Clairo album. Alara's phone buzzed on the coffee table, breaking through the din of their conversation.
She picked it up casually, her eyes skimming over the screen. The message was from the manager of the band that just hired her, and as she read it, she went completely silent. They wanted her at their rehearsal to meet them. Alara’s eyes widened in disbelief. "Guys, you won’t believe this!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling slightly with excitement.
Alice looked up, raising an eyebrow. "What’s up?"
"I just got a text from the band. They want me to come to their rehearsal to meet them!" Alara’s face lit up with a radiant smile.
Alice and Ava exchanged excited glances. "No way!" Ava gasped. "This is huge! When do you go?"
"The message says tomorrow afternoon," Alara replied, her fingers dancing over the screen as she read through the details. "I can’t believe it’s actually happening."
As the initial excitement settled, Alara paused. "The thing is…I don’t really know much about them. I’ve heard a couple of their songs in passing, but that’s about it."
Alice waved her hand dismissively. "No big deal! We can fix that. Play some of their tracks right now."
Alara nodded, pulling up their music on her phone. As the first notes filled the room, she leaned back, letting the sound wash over her. The raw energy of the guitars and the lead singer's voice hooked her instantly. Track after track played, and she could feel herself getting more in tune with their vibe.
"Okay, I get it now," she said, smiling. "These guys are good."
Ava grinned. "Told you! You’ll be capturing some epic moments with them."
As the night went on, Alara felt more prepared, her nerves settling into a quiet anticipation. Tomorrow, she would meet Inhaler not just as a fan, but as their photographer, ready to bring their music to life through her lens.
