"Pa, ma l-late na ako sa class" I let out a heavy sigh "hindi naman ako nag cutting classes, e. Akala lang namin absent yung teacher namin kaya nag mall kami ni Eurice" pag dadahilan ko.
Nagbuntong hininga sya habang nakatitig sa kanyang cellphone. Kanina pa kami nag-uusap at mukhang wala na syang time makipag sagutan sa akin kasi aalis na sya sa work nya at for sure ay ma l-late ako sa school pag tumagal pa ako.
"Hindi pa tayo tapos" he pointed at me "Go to your school mag-uusap ulit tayo mamaya" and with that I quickly walked outside of our house. Habang nasa byahe papuntang school ay hindi maalia sa utak ko si Evan, for sure sya na naman yung nagsumbong kay Dad.
"Hoy, Evan!" tawag ko sanya. Naglalakad ako ngayun sa hallway. I saw him from a far, nakatalikod sya sa akin wearing a school uniform while holding his backpack on his right arm.
Binilisan ko ang aking lakad para maabutan ko sya. Alam ko namang narinig nya ako ayaw nya lang ako pansinin.
"Hoy—" I wasn't able to finish my word when he stopped from his track and turned around to face me. He looked at me boringly. I cleared my throat and looked away. I forgot what I was about to say, damn it.
"What?" he coldly asked.
I looked up to him " Can't you just leave me alone? why do u need to tell dad na nag cutting classes ako?"
He furrowed his brow "You did what?" I rolled my eyes.
I scoffed " Wow, galing, palakpakan " I clapped my hand. Some students were looking on us but I don't care. "Akting aktingan, ganun? tama ka na Evan. We're enemies kaya for sure sinumbong mo ako kay Dad para mapagalitan ako"
He shooked his head and turned around. Bago pa sya makaalis ay pinigilan ko sya. I grabbed his wrist, he glared on it but it didn't affect me.
"Kung ano man pinag gagagawa ko dito sa school, that's none of your business, okay? Mas lalo lang akong naiinis sayo—"
" I don't have a damn care on you, when did I even care, Kailani?" He tilted his head with a hint of smirk on his lips.
I removed my hand from his wrist and shut my mouth. He shoved his hand on his pocket and look at me.
" What do you think of me? tagabantay mo? Do you think I have time to check everything what you're doing in school?" he laughed sarcastically while I look like a kid in front of him, pinching my palm while looking down. I felt so embarrassed especially now that some of students were listening to us.
" Never ako nagsumbong sa Dad mo. Do whatever the hell you want to do"
And with that he left me. Fuck.
"Eyy, nandito na ang dalawang matatalino! Akala namin absent kayo!" Sabi nung isa naming classmates. Magkasunod kami ni Evan pagpasok sa classroom.
"Evan, may mga notes ka ba dyan?"
"Pre baka naman pwedeng pakopya mamaya"
"Evan paturo naman sa lesson natin kahapon"
As soon as Evan sat on his chair, nagsilapitan ang iba naming mga kaklase sa kanya. As usual, mga gustong magpaturo sa kanya and stuff. Habang ako, wala masyadong lumalapit, I don't know maybe they find me not really approachable and maybe I look intimidating. Si Eurice nga lang close friend ko, e.
"Uhm, K-Kailani..." someone poke my arm from my back.
"Hmm?" I hummed in response as I looked at her. It's Gillian, I'm not close to her. She's cute and shy but she has more friends than me lol.
