Triple Agent

Summary: Ward's a triple agent, only Skye knows (along with Victoria Hand and Fury), because the people on The Bus find out that he's HYDRA (even when he isn't), Ward is forced to leave as soon as possible, Skye meets him every two days/nights and the team start getting suspicious.

Skye, kept looking at the clock on her beside table waiting for her to be able to leave, Fury had made it clear that every two days/nights, Skye was allowed to leave for several hours twice, once during the day and once at night, no questions asked but one of Coulson's conditions were that it was every two days and that she informed him whenever it was time for her to leave, Coulson never knew who she went to meet and like Fury's condition he never asked question.

Only three people within SHIELD knew of Ward's status as a triple agent and that was Nick Fury, Victoria Hand and Skye, the only reason Skye knew was because Ward obtained permission from Victoria and Fury beforehand and then he told her everything.

From his abusive childhood, to burning the house down, being sent to juvie, meeting John Garret, being left in the woods for five years alone when Victoria finds him and helps him causing him to become loyal to SHIELD rather than HYDRA but Ward also volunteers to be a triple agent for them.

That's when Skye's clock chimed, exactly at 7:00 pm, she had until 12:00 am the next day and so the woman rose from her bed and snapped out of her thoughts and left, after telling Coulson she was leaving she passed through the community lounge that the team liked to sit at, where Mack and Trip were playing poker, Fitzsimmons was playing scrabble, Coulson had just left his office, May wasn't piloting at the team were at an old SSR base (but they spent their time on The Bus rather than in the base), so she and Coulson were playing poker with Mack and Trip. 

None of them noticed as Skye slipped out, placing her hood over her head and walking, she walked for about two blocks when she finally got where she wanted, an apartment building, she had a key so she just opened the door.

Simmons, despite what Skye thought, had noticed the young woman leave and frowned curiously, tapping her best friend, Fitz on the shoulder and explained what she'd seen, both of them knew it was unlike Skye to just leave.

"Sir, Skye left," Simmons said, even if Fitz was signaling for her not to say anything.

"I'm aware, don't worry about it." Coulson said, albeit stiffly, he still wanted to know who Skye was meeting but she, Fury and Victoria wouldn't say anything.

This continued for weeks, Skye would disappear two times a day, once during the day and the other time at night, soon it got annoying for everyone, except May, nothing annoyed that woman, it annoyed people that Skye was leaving and then returning without saying anything.

So they followed her, which Skye knew but didn't care, she was planning to leave anyway, if she couldn't with Ward and SHIELD, she'd go with Ward over SHIELD, HYDRA, everything and everyone, Ward would be her top priority.

There was a problem however, because by the time Coulson's team had plucked up the courage to knock on the door, Skye had gone to the shops, leaving Ward with the dog, Buddy named after the one Garret killed when Ward was in the forest and after he'd secretly started becoming a triple agent.

Ward was sitting on the balcony with the puppy, Buddy, when he heard a knock at the door, normally he'd've grabbed a gun but he thought it was Skye with her hands full of the shopping, Ward would've gone with her but she'd told him about the team following her to the apartment and she thought they might follow her to the shops but boy was she wrong.

So, Ward opened the door and was met with the shocked faces of his ex team members and a couple of new people that he didn't actually know, Simmons of all people was the first one to speak.

"Ward?" the scientist asked before she poked Ward several times to make sure he was actually real.

"What are you doing here?" May asked, her hand going to the gun in her back pocket which Ward noticed.

"No need for the gun, relax." Ward said.

"What are you doing here?" Coulson asked, repeating May's question.

"I live here."

"No you don't." scoffed Trip, shaking his head, Ward just rolled his eyes.

"Didn't he drop Fitzsimmons at the bottom of the ocean?" Mack asked.

"In Ward's defence it was supposed to float." Fitz said.

"Why are you lot in my doorway?"

They all turned to see Skye holding shopping.

"You know what? I don't really care, just move out the way."

With that Skye started pushing her way through the crowd of people and walking into the apartment before returning and folding her arms across her chest.

"It's called being a triple agent by the way. He was a triple agent." Skye said as she saw Coulson start to open his mouth.

"How do you? Is this where you've been going for the past two weeks?"

"Hmm, yeah." Skye said.

Before anyone could say anything else the woman just closed the door in their faces, even if it was a bit rude, it was also rude to show up unannounced even if they'd been following her without saying anything, Skye joined Buddy on the floor.

"So, I gave Fury and Victoria my resignation." Skye said as she and Ward ate dinner.

Ward just stared at her not giving her any response.

"Grant?" she asked.

"Why?"

Skye chuckled at his question.

"Because you're my life, my family, even more than the people on The Bus."

And that's what happened, Skye had built a family with Ward, moving away from the city and creating new identities for her and Ward as a precaution, the two were living in one of John Garret's safe house that Ward had actually inherited with a lot more houses around the globe and a lot of money.

Ward had reconciled with his younger brother Thomas and older sister Jasmine, so he got to meet their families, Buddy the dog of course came along with Skye and Ward wherever they went.

I personally think that this has been rushed, but I couldn't think of anything else and like I stated I'm not good at oneshots for stories, I'm great with actual stories just not oneshots but if you like this you like it.
