Before Lila could respond, the doorbell rang again. This time, it was Dorian. His smile was as charming as ever, but there was a glint of mischief in his eyes.

"Hello, Lila," Dorian greeted, glancing at Ethan with a smirk. "I see you've been busy."

Ethan's demeanor changed, and he stepped toward Dorian with a protective stance. "This isn't the time for games, Dorian."

Dorian raised an eyebrow. "Oh, I'm not here to play games. I just wanted to remind Lila of what she's dealing with. Ravenswood is not a place where you can uncover secrets without consequences."

Lila felt a surge of frustration. "What is it you're both hiding from me? Why does it seem like every step I take is met with more danger?"
