THE WINGROVE AND FAIRCHILD SURNAMES TRACE BACK TO THE 1800s, THEIR LEGACIES ENDURING THROUGH THE DECADES IN MYSTIC FALLS.

Jeanine Wingrove and Ginevra Fairchild are the best of friends, with Jean as the good cop and Gin as what she likes to call the 'investigative cop.' Though complete opposites, they share a deep understanding and appreciation for their heritage, proudly carrying on the names of their illustrious ancestors. Their bloodlines were practically gold, owing to the significant roles their families played in history.

"'It isn't your birthday, is it?'" Ginevra mimicked Gabe's words in a douchey tone that sounded ridiculous coming from Jean. "What a doofus," she added, rolling her eyes as they continued walking side by side on the sidewalk.

Jean recounted the events from the other night, deliberately leaving out the part about the new guy she had met. She deemed it unimportant since all he did was criticize her relationship. The girls were on their way back to Jean's house after visiting the antique store.

"And get this, he didn't even apologize," Jean pointed out, kicking pebbles as she walked. "Do you think I did something wrong?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry as she glanced over at Gin.

Ginevra placed a reassuring hand on Jean's shoulder as they continued walking. "Hey, of course not," she replied, shaking her head. "You're not wrong for wanting to be with your boyfriend. It would be weird if you didn't."

The pair ascended the steps to Jean's home, with Jean leading the way as she unlocked the door and Gin following, pulling it shut behind her. Once inside, they placed their belongings on the table, and Jean began preparing a meal for herself and her friend. Gin settled comfortably on the couch, picking up a magazine from the table and casually skimming through it.

"My mom will be back later," Jean told with a warm smile as she turned to Gin, who had been focused on her magazine. Holding up two jars of tomato sauce, she continued, "But I thought we could make our favorite—homemade pizzas."

Gin lifted her gaze from the magazine to her best friend, nodding in approval. "You know how to make my stomach happy," she commented, prompting a giggle from Jean as she retrieved the cheese from the fridge. "Need any help?"

"No, just stay put," Jean responded, placing her hands on her hips with a playful judgmental look. "Remember the last time you ventured into the kitchen?" She was referring to when Gin nearly set the place on fire while trying to bake pre-made cookies, definitely not a bright time. "Not all pretty girls are great cooks," Gin retorted with a shrug.

Jean chuckled softly at the girl's remark as she began preparing the pizzas for the oven. A few minutes passed before the doorbell rang. "I'll get it," Gin offered, setting her magazine down on the couch as she headed to the door. She glanced out the window briefly but saw no one there.
