19. Offer

Shivaay sat in his hotel room, staring at the window. He had sent her favorite flowers, hoping they would mean something.

A year had passed since that painful day, and sending flowers felt like a small gesture, but he knew it wasn't enough. Not after what had happened.

"It's a start" he thought, though doubt clouded his mind.

The memory of Anika's pain haunted him The guilt weighed heavily on him, but what could flowers do now? He'd seen her today at the conference-confident, powerful, not the same Anika he had once known. She didn't need him anymore.

But something still connected them. He had felt it when their eyes met, even if she pretended otherwise.

"Does she still hate me?"

The question lingered, though he wasn't sure he wanted to know the answer.

Shivaay clenched his fists. He couldn't undo the past, but he had to try.

Sitting here, doing nothing, would only worsen the distance between them.

"I owe her an apology... more than that" he whispered to himself, knowing words alone wouldn't be enough.

"But will she ever forgive me?"

This was the question which lingered on his mind.

He looked out the window, feeling the weight of everything he had lost. Anika had moved on, and built a new life without him.

But he couldn't shake the hope that there was still a chance to make things right.

"I'll find a way. I can't lose her again."

That was when a idea sparked in his eyes like lightning.

But there was still a silver of doubt in his idea.

"Will she accept the offer or will she think that I'm trying to trap her again?"

He shook his head, putting aside his doubt.

"She'll think twice before rejecting this offer," he thought, confident yet slightly nervous.

He knew Anika-her pride, her independence. She wouldn't easily agree to work with him unless there was something irresistible in the deal.

Being determined he picked up his phone and called Khanna. He started explaining to Khanna about the offer he's gonna give Anika.

Khanna hesitated, "Sir, are you sure? Anika ma'am might reject the offer-"

"She won't," Shivaay interrupted, his tone firm.

"Make sure we include a personal invitation for her. If she rejects this, it'll mean turning down one of the biggest opportunities for her company. She can't say no."

Khanna replied, "Okay sir, I'll get the job done.

As he ended the call, Shivaay's thoughts drifted. He imagined her initial anger, her hesitation, but also the moment she'd realize the stakes.

This wasn't just an offer; it was an opportunity for her to make her place in the business. And, selfishly, it was his way of seeing her again.

"If I offer her this project, she won't be able to say no." He smiled slightly

It would be huge-an opportunity so massive that her company would gain unparalleled exposure. It was something she couldn't afford to pass up, and at the same time, it would give him the chance to finally be in her orbit again, even if just professionally at first.

"Anika,This is just the beginning. I'm gonna try every method, every way to win your trust again. I hope you'll give me another chance"

The plan was set. Now, all he had to do was wait.
