The battlefield was a mess of rain and mud as St. Gloriana's tanks pressed their advantage against the retreating forces of Kuromorimine. The skies had opened up, turning the once-firm ground into a quagmire, and tanks struggled to maintain traction in the deepening mire. The storm that had loomed on the horizon earlier in the day was now fully upon them, drenching both teams in sheets of cold rain. Visibility was poor, and the steady patter of raindrops against the tank's armor was only broken by the sound of distant gunfire.

Inside Adrian's Churchill, the atmosphere was tense but focused. The battle with Kuromorimine's Tiger II had been their toughest challenge yet, but now, with the behemoth defeated, their attention turned to the final objective: Kuromorimine's flag tank. It was the key to winning the match, and Adrian's instincts told him it was close—closer than they realized.

"Darjeeling, what's the situation?" Adrian asked, his voice steady over the radio despite the chaos outside.

Darjeeling responded in her usual calm, collected tone. "Kuromorimine's forces are retreating, but the terrain is working in our favor. The rain has turned the battlefield into a mud pit. Their heavier tanks are having trouble moving. Now is the time to strike."

Adrian nodded to his crew. "Driver, keep us steady. We're pushing forward."

The Churchill lurched forward through the muck, its treads digging into the thick mud. Each movement was slower than Adrian would have liked, but the reliable, slower design of the Churchill worked better in this terrain than Kuromorimine's more powerful but heavier tanks.

Rosehip's voice came over the radio, sounding as energetic as ever despite the grim conditions. "Adrian! We've spotted their flag tank! It's stuck in the mud just up ahead, trying to cross a field near the riverbank."

Adrian's eyes lit up with the opportunity. Kuromorimine's flag tank—a Panzer IV—was their ticket to victory, and if it was immobilized in the mud, this was their chance to end the match decisively.

"Understood, Rosehip," Adrian replied. "Keep your distance. We're moving in for the final shot."

His crew responded immediately. The Churchill pushed forward through the rain, the battlefield stretching out before them. The mud was thick and treacherous, but they kept moving, determined to close the gap between them and Kuromorimine's stranded flag tank.

As they crested a small rise, Adrian caught sight of the Panzer IV, its once-pristine armor now caked in mud. It was stuck in the middle of a shallow marsh, its tracks spinning uselessly as the driver attempted to free it. Nearby, a few remaining Kuromorimine tanks tried to provide cover, but they too were bogged down, their cannons pointed in every direction as they attempted to hold off St. Gloriana's advancing forces.

"Gunner, target the Panzer IV," Adrian ordered. "This is it."

The gunner locked the Churchill's turret onto the Panzer IV. The rain beat down hard, but Adrian could see the desperation in the movements of Kuromorimine's crew as they frantically tried to escape. It was no use. They were stuck, vulnerable, and in no position to fight back.

"Fire!" Adrian commanded.

The Churchill's gun roared, and the shell tore through the rain-soaked air. It struck the Panzer IV directly, sending a plume of smoke and debris into the sky. The flag tank shuddered under the impact, and then—silence.

Adrian watched for a moment, heart pounding. The Panzer IV's turret stopped moving, and its engine died, sending a final sputter of smoke into the air. The Kuromorimine flag tank was officially out of commission.

A cheer went up from the radio as the news spread across the St. Gloriana team. Rosehip's voice was the first to come through, full of excitement. "We did it! Adrian, you got the flag tank!"

Darjeeling's calm voice followed, though there was a note of satisfaction in her tone. "Well done, Adrian. A masterful strike. Kuromorimine has been defeated."

Adrian allowed himself a small smile as the reality of their victory settled in. The rain continued to pour down, and the mud still clung to every inch of their tanks, but it didn't matter. They had won. St. Gloriana had faced Kuromorimine, one of the strongest schools in Sensha-dō, and emerged victorious.

As the tension of the battle began to fade, Adrian leaned back in his seat, feeling the weight of the day lift off his shoulders. His crew exchanged relieved glances, their hard work and determination paying off in the end.

But Adrian's thoughts drifted to Darjeeling, who had been at his side throughout the entire match, offering guidance and support. Their secret relationship had grown stronger with each passing day, and as the adrenaline of battle faded, his thoughts turned to her.

"We did it, Darjeeling," he said quietly over the radio, his voice filled with a mixture of pride and relief.

"We did, indeed," Darjeeling replied, her voice soft but warm. "I'm proud of you, Adrian."

Adrian felt a sense of warmth fill his chest. The battle was over, but something deeper had begun to blossom between them. He smiled to himself, the rain tapping gently against the Churchill's hull, the mud beneath them softening the roar of victory.

For now, they had won the day. But Adrian knew that there were more challenges ahead—and more moments to share with Darjeeling.
