Safiya's pov:

But I wanna feel all that love and emotion Be that attached to the person I'm holding

It was June 7th, two weeks after the wedding, and everything had settled back into its normal routine. I was lying on my bed, scrolling through reels, when suddenly, a message from Fahad popped up at 12:30 AM: "If I were a cockroach, would you still love me?"

What a weird question.

I smirked, deciding to mess with him. "Yes, Fahad, even if you were a mandrill, I'd still love you deeply," I texted back, fully intending to annoy him.

To my surprise, my phone started buzzing with a video call from him. I answered, still caught off guard. "Why did you call?" I asked.

"Do I look like a cockroach or a mandrill to you?" Fahad asked, clearly irritated. Mission accomplished—I'd successfully pissed him off. Teasing him was practically my love language at this point.

"Bade hi Fariq insaan hai aap, Ajeeb!? And by the way, I don't even like you," I quipped, then hung up the call, unwilling to compromise my sleep over his nonsense.

Just as I was about to drift off, my phone buzzed again. It was another text from Fahad: "Why'd you hang up?"

"Because I want to sleep. Plus, I need to be well-rested for the scolding I'll get from you tomorrow," I replied, rolling my eyes.

"Haha, true. Anyway, there's this song lyric I can't remember, and it's bothering me. I won't be able to sleep until you help me out," he texted back.

"Are you drunk?" I responded, amused. "Fine, tell me the lyric."

"Dil ne ye kaha hai dil se," he sent.

I couldn't believe he'd forgotten such a simple song. Just a few weeks ago, he was dancing to it with us during the wedding—'Dulhe Ka Sehra' from the movie *Dhadkan*.

"Mohabbat ho gayi hai tumse," I typed back with a grin.

"Sachi? You just said you don't like me, and now you're saying this? Pick a side and stop being a hypocrite," he shot back. I chuckled, realizing how absurd this conversation was.

inka dimag sach me khrb hogya hai i thought. Tired of the back and forth, I put my phone down and tried to sleep again. But of course, Fahad couldn't resist.

"Fia, you..." he texted, followed by a random meme. That was it—I'd had enough of him for one night.

I replied, "Be careful, or you might just fall for me

I replied, "Be careful, or you might just fall for me. Then you'll have to deal with me for the rest of your life."

"Oh bibi," he shot back. "I'd rather die than deal with that. Going to sleep now. kal baat karte hai aaj ke liye kaafi hai."
