~Challenge {Rod Bauer x fem! reader}~

{3rd person:pov}

Class. How oh so boring. But on this particular day neither Rod nor [name] seemed to care. Sending each other knowing glances across the classroom made the smiles on their faces widen. Both Rod and [name] we're the only ones who knew about this. And they swore to each other it should remain that way, at least for the time being.

With the whole, Rod being the heir to the throne of the Bauer kingdom and [name] just being a mere commoner. It seemed unheard of, and Rod's father would be furious if he knew. And so would so many others. Naturally. Rod had power, influence, money, looks, you name it! Yet he chose her.

Of course he saw nothing wrong with [name]. At first he was curious about her. She seemed so interesting to him. He swore he had to know more about her. And while doing that he began thinking about her more, in a way he'd never thought about anyone else before. It started with just mere curiosity but eventually he couldn't write it off as just that anymore. He wanted to know her more, but not out of pure intrigue. But because he had feelings for [name].

He wasn't so sure at what point the curiosity and interest in her merged into something more, but at this point did it even matter? He was unapologetically and purely in love with [name] at this point. He would go around screaming about his undying love for her if she hadn't specifically asked him not. 

See, [name] was quite curious about Rod at the beginning too. She was intrigued about what he saw in her and why he kept talking to her. But eventually letting loose around him and being her own true self began waking up feelings inside the both of them. Rod was like a breath of fresh air [name] didn't know she needed. At first she assumed he would be like any other royal pain in the ass. But seeing as she actually found some things they had in common, it opened her eyes and made her realize how limited her thinking had been until she decided to open up to him, and treat him like any other one of her peers.

Seeing Rod act so casual towards her made her understand, that the two of them weren't so different. He was just like any other person, if you didn't bother making tightly fitting labels and stereotypes. And once [name] did see things the way they were she also developed feelings for Rod.

Of course she didn't dare say anything. After all the pair kept their friendship quite under wraps. People were acting so awfully towards Rae for the princes being interested in her. It was unfair. But that didn't stop Rod. Against all odds, he confessed to [name].

He told her how he felt about her and that he didn't want to be just friends. As confident as he usually appeared, his confession was quite awkward, unsure and nervous. Of course the moment [name] admitted she felt the same way, Rod was overjoyed and so was she. But [name] had to stop Rod before he left to go say or do anything yet. She told him she wasn't comfortable with people throwing insults and backhanded comments at her. Even though Rod swore he'd make the people doing and saying those things stop, [name] refused. What's to stop them when he wasn't around? Even if she told him afterwards it would end up with more consequences.

So they both agreed to keep it a secret, at least until they couldn't keep it secret anymore. This would entail secret meetings behind the school building, passing notes in secret, sending each other knowing smiles and looks, finding empty rooms in the school to hangout, meeting in [name's] room at night in secret, brief hand touches as they passed by in the halls. It felt all a little extra but it brought such a great rush of excitement to the both of them, allowing for the two of them to bond even more. It felt like a challenge to them. How far could they go until they were caught being together? How obvious and public of a space could they go to before someone noticed? They would never know, and doing these risky meetups more and more out in the open made both of them excited. On so many occasions had they nearly been caught. Each time making them both want to try something riskier. What would be next? Of course they were never technically doing anything wrong or dirty. They were just having their own romantic meetup. It still excited the both of them.

But recently there was something that [name] and Rod had both realized they hadn't really done yet. They were yet to kiss. Sure they had shared little pecks on the cheeks, forehead hell even on the lips. But never a true meaningful first kiss. Feeling and tasting each other, as weird as that might sound. They hadn't shared these thought's but they both knew what they were thinking.

When class had ended and students began packing up and leaving to go to lunch [name] and Rod had intentionally been slower in doing so, eventually seeing the last students leave the room. [name] and Rod quietly walked towards the classroom door until Rod closed it, and leaned on it sending [name] a smirk. She glanced at Rod, doing the same.

Rod grabbed her by the hips, bringing her in closer. Leaning down to talk to her in a hushed tone, "are you ready?" he spoke, masking his own eagerness and excitement.

"more than ever" she replied in the same hushed tone, echoing in the quiet and empty classroom.

Both of them started leaning in closer, their lips locking together, and beginning to move in sync. Rod was a sloppy kisser, but there was something about it that made it so endearing and inline for him. Moving her hands up to hug his neck, deepening the kiss as it made Rod want to kiss [name] even harder. Her soft lips enticing him and his odd yet alluring way of kissing having the same effect for her.

Pulling away with both of their eyes meeting and their breathing slightly heavy yet quiet. A smile tugged at the corner of their lips as they gazed into each others eyes lovingly. This kiss was everything they both expected and even more. It was perfect. A tender moment between the two of them, that they would never forget. Their pounding hearts and close proximity lulling them both into a world in their own heads, making them forget their surroundings and allowing them both to enjoy each others presence in a way they hadn't been able to before. This moment felt like forever, and they were okay with that. As long as the forever was with each other, it would be okay.

Rod hugging [name's] waist with her hugging his neck, her head on his chest listening to his fast beating heart in the otherwise soothing silence. The sight was enough to bring smiles to prince Yu's and Thane's faces. It was a side of Rod they had yet to see. And they wouldn't want to ruin the moment for the couple. From the beginning of their relationship, Rod's brothers knew something had changed within him. And now they had figured out what. Of course they were going to tell Rod about their discovery later at home. But not right now.

I guess they'll have to have a new challenge now. Or re-write the rules of the current one to exclude Rod's brothers.
