THE FIFTH AND FINAL set kicked off with a surge of energy that pulsed through the entire arena. The atmosphere was electric, a mixture of hope and tension hanging thick in the air as the Filipino and Kenyan crowds roared for their teams. Ryan could barely hear himself think over the noise, but he didn't need to. His focus was entirely on Elena.

As the game progressed, Ryan was gripping on the edge of his seat, his heart pounding in rhythm with the game. The pressure of this final set was intense, and even as a seasoned athlete, he could feel it like a weight in his chest. But he wasn't the one on the court—Elena was. And damn, she was something else.

Ryan witnessed how Elena played during the first few sets, but what she did in the fourth set had been on another level. It was as if she'd transformed right before his eyes, becoming a force of nature that couldn't be stopped. Every spike, every block, every move was executed with such precision and power that he couldn't help but be in awe.

Holy shit, he thought to himself, shaking his head in disbelief. He'd known she was good—one of the best in her sport, actually—but seeing it up close like this was something else entirely. He always respected athletes who could step up under pressure, but Elena... she made it look effortless like she was born for this. And the way she played in that fourth set had been nothing short of spectacular. It left him speechless, barely able to process what he'd just witnessed.

As the final set unfolded, Ryan's eyes never left Elena. He could see the determination etched on her face, the fire in her eyes that matched the one he felt whenever he was about to dive into the water for a crucial race. It was the look of someone who knew what was at stake and was ready to give everything to win.

He leaned forward, barely aware of the crowd around him, his attention solely on her. There was something incredible about watching someone so fully in their element, so consumed by the game that nothing else seemed to exist. And Ryan realized, with admiration and something deeper, that he was witnessing greatness.

It was surreal, sitting here in the crowd, watching Elena as she led her team through the final moments of the match. He'd seen her in a different light before, but now... now she was more than just the girl he met by chance. She was a powerhouse, a leader, and someone who had earned every bit of respect and admiration she was getting.

The tension in the arena was palpable as the points went back and forth, but Ryan couldn't shake the sense of pride swelling in his chest. Not just pride in Elena, but in being part of this moment. In witnessing what she was capable of. And as the set wore on, he found himself rooting for her with everything he had, silently willing her to push through, to claim victory.

As the fifth set raged on, Ryan sat there in the stands, utterly captivated by Elena's prowess on the court, his phone suddenly buzzed in his pocket. For a moment, he ignored it, not wanting anything to distract him from the game. But when it buzzed again, he reluctantly pulled it out and glanced at the screen. It was a message from Jake.
