They were losing.

The battle was ending.

He was dying.

Three facts he could confirm as he looked around the battlefield. The whole place looked destroyed and he swore to himself that he couldn't find any other sign of life around. All his friends were lost.

He winced as he looked down at his wound. Blood seeped around his suit as he pressed a hand to the stab wound. The hero transformed out of his armour, gripping his coin. He took out the other six coins from his pocket. A tear slid down his cheek as he saw the dimmed colours on the coins. He let out a heavy breath before he dug up a hole and hid the coins inside.

"Fin-find..." He panted as he covered up the hole. "Find...the next-next worthy ones...to-to defeat...defeat him"

He stiffened when he heard a chuckle.

Typhon.

He glared up at the grinning monster, his hand still pressed to his injury as he panted.

"Well, well, well," Typhon grinned, "What do we have here?"

The hero grunted as his face was grabbed and brought up to Typhon's menacing smirk.

"The legendary Telemachus of Ithaca, the hero of Athena" Telemachus squirmed at the monster's grip, "dying in the palm of my hand"

Telemachus glared as he struggled to fight back.

Typhon grabbed Telemachus by his neck, lifting him up. The hero grunted at the sudden attack. His feet at first no longer felt the ground, feeling nothing, before the monster turned and suddenly, they felt light splashes.

"I win" Typhon cackled out, his grip tightening slightly around Telemachus' neck. "I got what I wanted, I killed your little friends, and now,"

"You shall drown in Poseidon's seas all alone"

Telemachus started to struggle to breathe as he felt the realisation come to him.

Typhon was right about one thing. He knew he was not going to make it out of this.

But that didn't mean he didn't have an advantage for one last strike.

Telemachus slowly brought his hand to his dagger out of Typhon's sight.

"Any last words, hero?"

Telemachus was quick to pierce the knife through Typhon's chest. Typhon gasped at the sudden attack, his grip loosening on the hero's neck.

Telemachus held a small smile in triumph before Typhon's grip on him fully loosened and the hero fell in the deep waves.

Telemachus closed his eyes as he finally let go, a single thought floating in his mind as he let out his last few bubbles of breath.

'It's just me, myself, and I now'
