Veronica was eating lunch with her friends, until she heard something that she didn't like.
"Professor Snape is the worst Hogwarts professor ever," Harry says.
Veronica grunts, and sets her food down and stands up from the table.
"Veronica?" Hermione asks. "Where are you going?"
"Somewhere," Veronica says. "Don't worry about it." She smiles, but it's obviously a fake smile.
Hermione seems skeptical, but she sighs. "Alright. Just don't get into any trouble okay?"
Veronica nods, and walks to the library. She finds a corner and sits down, trying to collect her thoughts. Augh...who knew reincarnation was a lot of work? She sighs. I always have to stay on my feet. I can't let─ Her thoughts are interrupted by someone clearing their throat. "Dah!" She looks up, and sees Snape. "Ah, shit."
"Miss Parker," Snape says. "Why are you in the library when you're supposed to be eating lunch?"
Veronica sighs. "I'm not hungry." At least that was the truth...
Snape crosses his arms. "It doesn't matter if you're hungry or not. You need to stay in the Great Hall."
"What do you have against reading?" Veronica mutters, rolling her eyes.
Snape raises an eyebrow. "Are you backtalking me?"
Veronica stays silent.
"Detention," Snape says.
'What!?" Veronica exclaims. "For what!?"
Snape raises an eyebrow. "Either detention or serving everyone for lunch tomorrow."
Veronica groans. "Fine."

After school, Veronica goes to Snape's office for detention. "I just don't see why I have to get detention for reading." She rolls her eyes.
"Just sit down," Snape says.
Veronica sighs and sits down. "You're as bad as James was." She mutters under her breath.
"What was that?" Snape asks.
"Nothing," Veronica says, sighing. She picks at her jeans.
That's weird... Snape thinks. Veronica used to do that a lot... He shrugs. Probably just a coincidence. "Stop doing that."
"Why!?" Veronica exclaims. "They're my jeans!"
"It's distracting," Snape says.
"To who!?" Veronica exclaims. "There's nobody else here!!"
Snape rolls his eyes. "That may be, but you still shouldn't pick at your jeans. You'll ruin them."
Veronica huffs. "Fine, fine. I'll stop." She rests her face on her hand, her arm resting on the chair. She looks around the room. "Augh, this is so boring!"
"That's the point of detention," Snape says, rolling his eyes. "If you're looking for something to do, you can help sort out the ingredients." He gestures to a shelf with ingredients all scattered about.
"Fine." Veronica says. She walks over to the shelf. "How should I organize them?"
"Doesn't matter," Snape says. "As long as they're organ━"
"Done," Veronica says, gesturing to the shelf full of the organized ingredients.
"Wha...?" Snape says. "But how did you...?"
Veronica shrugs. "I just arranged them in alphabetical order. It's not that hard."
"Hmm..." Snape says. "Impressive. Most students give up after about two minutes."
Veronica chuckles. "They're kinda dumb, then."
Snape rolls his eyes. "Whatever. Just sit back down."
Veronica rolls her eyes. "Party pooper."
Snape overhears this. "Do not talk that way, young lady."
Veronica sighs. "Sorry sorry." She plops down on the seat.
"And don't plop," Snape says.
"DON'T YOU KNOW HOW TO HAVE ANY FUN!?" Veronica exclaims. She groans. She starts to hum the song that her and Severus made up when they were kids, thinking only she could hear it.
Snap stops writing and looks up at Veronica.
Veronica notices this. "What? I'm not allowed to hum?"
"How do you know that song?" Snape asks.
Veronica's eyes widen. "Well, uhm— uh— you see—" She suddenly gets up and runs out of his office.
Snape sits there, speechless and stunned. No...that...that can't be her...she...she died protecting me and Lily...didn't she?
Veronica runs to her dorm room. "Crap. Crap, crap, crap! Aughhh, you idiot!!" She pulls her hood down. "You need to be more careful!" She slides down her door. "Augh..." She strokes her cat and sighs. "This is more work than I thought...alot more work..."
