He was surrounded, there was no escape. Hawk Moth merely watched the heroes in fear, knowing this was his end. How did he even end up in this situation? It was a stupid plan, deem to failure just like everything else he'd ever done. He should've stopped when he had the chance, but he was too selfish, too busy trying to play the unstoppable villain. The plan was simple, until it wasn't. He was supposed to lure the heroes to the top of the Eiffel Tower, where his sentimonster in the form of a snake was meant to creep up behind them while Hawk Moth pretended to surrender. The snake was supposed to bite them, and when they fell weak to the snake's poison, Hawk Moth would take a hold of their miraculous and disappear for good.
Except, Ladybug was too intelligent. After all, she had the power of luck on her side. The moment she and Cat Noir landed on top of the tower, she called lucky charm. Snake tongs appeared. They were red with black polka dots, a signature look of the power of her miraculous.
"Snake tongs?" She looked at them in confusion. "He isn't going to surrender, Cat Noir. This is a trap, I know it is!"
Hawk Moth's eyes went wide to the young hero's words. He didn't even have the opportunity to say much. Ladybug had caught up to his plans almost immediately. Her eyes scanned him with vehemence, and then she spotted a black yarn bracelet wrapped around his left wrist. She swung her yoyo at him, but Hawk Moth stopped it from touching him with the force of his purple cane.
"What's the matter, Ladybug? Can't a man decide to change. I want to end this madness, so I'll give you the butterfly miraculous." His fingers traced the outlines of the brooch pinned to his suit.
"You're lying, I know you are."
Slowly, so extremely slowly, Hawk Moth moved the yarn bracelet from side to side. That was when his sentimonster emerged from its hiding spot, and began to drag itself over the ground, wanting to aim at both of the heroes' ankles. It was dead silent, but Cat Noir's impeccable sense of hearing was able to detect the sounds of the snake. He turned around, his intense green eyes came in contact with the moving snake, and his heart dropped in fear.
"Ladybug!" He yelled.
She turned around in an instant, using the tongs in a second against the snake. "I knew it, you're tricking us. Cat Noir, take the yarn bracelet from his wrist, this snake has to be a sentimonster, and its amok must be in there."
The tongs held the snake with force as Cat Noir and Hawk Moth began an aggressive fight for the bracelet around his wrist, which only ended with Cat Noir taking away his cane. Once Ladybug put the snake in a safe place, she wrapped the tower with the strings of her unbreakable yoyo, preventing anyone from escaping.
It was at that moment Hawk Moth knew he had failed miserably. He was trapped inside with no chance of making it out. It was only him and the young heroes.
"It's over, I will take the butterfly miraculous in this instant."
Hawk Moth stepped away from her in fear. What else could he do? He couldn't run away, and his powers were practically useless at that moment.
His back finally hit the strings of her yoyo, and Hawk Moth began to think of his own stupidity. At what point in time did he think this was a good idea? He was doomed.
Ladybug took Cat Noir's stick into her own hands, and as the girl approached him, he thought of how he was being defeated. And it was happening in the simplest form possible. He had basically given himself to them, and it was as if the world had paused for the entire moment it took her to press the end of the stick against his chest.
An intense breeze hit his face as she knocked the brooch off of him. The transformation abandoned him, and then he fell to his knees, not daring to look up at them. A loud gasp echoed around him, and all he could hear was the voice of Ladybug in complete shock and horror.
