chapter 2: abandoned

It was time to sit in that class once again.. the class Clara dreaded. Good thing she is no longer occupying her old spot anymore right? Sat in the front row like always were the 7 girls and of course Dan who was basically attached to Corinne. It's so different now without Clara around. No one left to tease. Oh sure they teased other students but no one compared to Clara Stokes. I guess you could say that she was different. Jocelyn always looked back at her seat.. not in a mean way but in a sad and regretful way. The others never noticed when she did this. The thing was, Clara used to be friends with these girls the year before. Sad how fast things had changed.

Clara and Jocelyn were the closest. Jocelyn would never tell but she missed their friendship. But she finally had her group. She was finally apart of the hunters and wasn't the hunted. So she followed their lead.

No one quite knew why exactly they turned on Clara. They just suddenly drifted apart one summer with no explanation.. or so everybody thinks. One minute they were making friendship bracelets and sharing clothes, the next they wanted nothing to do with each other. Now when speaking about Dan and Clara, their relationship for the most part wasn't fake. But as time went on and as they stayed together, he changed more and more. The way he acted.... and then of course the pictures being spread. No one on earth can forget about that.

"class?? can I have your attention please?" The teacher had asked bringing everyones eyes on him. He held in his hand envelopes. "oh my god.. it's invitations for that Paris trip." Zaria smiled. The girls all looked tp each other with much excitement, Corinne just glared at the teacher as if she was plotting something.

"now I think you all know about the Paris trip and how very few of you had the chance to go. Well I have the invites right here." He said. Every single face in the class seemed to be excited and were waiting for him to hopefully hand them one. He walked around the room, teasing a few kids before he began to hand them out. First was Corinne. Next, Ashley.. then, Dan, then Zaria, then Lily, then Marianna, then Jocelyn and then Gia. They were shocked. All of them coincidentally got invites to go to Paris together. How was this possible?? they didn't even care. All that mattered was that they got them.

They were going to Paris for gods sake. A dream destination to many..

So they all smiled and glad excepted them. "Oh wow. We are gonna be flying in a private airplane!!!" Corinne said. "of course we are baby. We are the winners after all." Dan said tightening his grip on her waist. "you must be ecstatic Dan. You're the only boy who was invited." Marianna said turning to look at him. "very." he replied in a sarcastic sounding tone. They all giggled.

"you know anyone who kill to be us right about now." Corinne said with a slight grin. Lacie smiled fakely before she quickly looked back at Clara's seat once again, this time Corinne noticed it but didn't want to say anything to her about it during class. "I mean duh they would kill. We are going to freaking Paris!!!!!" Ashley said in such excitement, Corinne focused her attention to her. "Cor and Ash in Paris. Wow I never thought I'd get to say those words." Corinne said holding her best friends hand tightly.

After the bell rang, the girls all left together smiling and happy about the surprise they just received. All but one. Jocelyn still had the same smile she on in the class except it looked even more fake than before. Corinne can see through her.

Corinne was able to see through everybody. It was her special power. Maybe that's why it was so easy to get in Clara's head about Dan.

The students made a memorial on her locker. It had a picture of her with a huge smile on her face. There were pink flowers all over, since pink was her favorite color and post it notes that were left by those students. 'rip Clara. We miss you! -B', 'I will always remember you', 'your memory will forever live on.' and it goes on. Jocelyn stopped to look at it for a second, not thinking anyone would notice. Did they go too far?
