The bandicoots looked around in awe. Terra's scenery was eerily similar to that of Earth's, albeit with its own vibe. Cortex and his cronies were seemingly unfazed, the new atmosphere the least of their concerns. Besides Team Bandicoot and Team Cortex, there were a couple of other teams present, one of which the teenage girl Crash had taken a glance at earlier was a member of. He waved sheepishly, but she turned away in a huff.

"So," Coco began, "this must be Terra. It's similar to Earth, don't you think?"

"Yeah," Crunch agreed. "I wonder where the first race will take place."

No sooner had those words left his mouth than another team was seen stepping out of the portal. The bandicoots and the villains believed that their eyes were playing tricks on them, but they were mistaken. The team in question was a trio of particular extraterrestrials. Two of them were green, with one belching every few seconds and the other acting more like a dog. As for the third, it was a hybrid with light purple fur and hair that consisted of multiple colors.

"Beatrix?!" exclaimed Crunch as he stared at the hybrid in disbelief.

"Where are your manners?" Beatrix growled, crossing her arms impatiently. "That is Princess Beatrix to you."

"What are you doing here?" Cortex demanded.

"You are truly a buffoon. This galaxy is my home. I am racing for the emperor himself. My uncle is the leader of this team, but we are taking turns with racing." Beatrix gestured to the two aliens beside her. "This is Zam, and the other imbecile here is Zem." Zem, ignoring the insult, belching again as he waved at the group. As for Zam, he growled in frustration.

"Wait a minute," Crunch interrupted. "You said that you live in this galaxy and that Oxide is your uncle, but wouldn't that make you..."

Beatrix smirked. "The daughter of Emperor Velo? Yes. You are more astute than I thought." With the snap of her fingers, miniature contraptions of sorts appeared in her hands. She handed one to each team. "Enough of that nonsense. That device is called a Sparky. Call it a...robotic assistant, if you will. They were created by...well, a friend of mine. It will allow you to see your schedule, to know when you will need to race and where. Be sure not to lose it, as you won't get another one." She turned to her accomplices once more. "Come along, you two. We've got things to do."

As Team Oxide left, Coco said, "Well, that was...strange."

Two members from a separate team approached the bandicoots. They appeared to be twins, as they both had blonde hair and bright blue eyes. They also wore the same clothing, consisting of a light blue sweater and dark blue shorts. However, one was shorter than the other. The taller girl introduced herself as Isabella, and her sister's name was Isabelle.

"Well, it is nice to meet both of you," Aku said.

"Likewise," Isabella said with the sweetest smile anyone could imagine. She turned to look at the girl who possessed the tail with teeth. "That over there is Helena, the leader of our team."

"Hey, Helena!" called out Isabelle. "Come over here, would you?" But all Helena did was angrily turn away. "You'll have to excuse her. She...doesn't really get along with people."

"That's fine," said Coco. "I'm sure she'll come around." She paused. "So...what world are you guys from?"

"We are from Nightfall, but I'm sure none of you have heard of that."

"No, we...haven't."

Helena, who had apparently overheard the conversation, finally approached the group as she explained, "It is a world that has been cast into an eternal night. Did that satisfy your curiosity, little fox?"
