Henry was eager to leave Snapdragon behind, his wolf craving the familiar comforts of home. His distrust of Alpha Harris only added to his unease. As the SUV drove away, he loosened his tie and opened the window, allowing the crisp air to fill the vehicle. The sun's descent behind the trees created a breathtaking scene, but his attention was diverted by something else.
"Stop the car," he commanded in a gruff tone, his voice firm and authoritative. The SUV came to a sudden halt, and the vehicle behind them screeched to a stop just short of collision.
"Alpha, what's wrong?" Nathan asked, his eyes scanning their surroundings for any signs of danger, but he saw nothing out of the ordinary.
Henry's expression was intense, his senses on high alert. "I'm not sure," he replied, his voice low and mysterious, before stepping out of the car.
Nathan followed suit, joining Henry outside and watching as he sniffed the air deeply, his nostrils flaring.
The royal delegates, curious about the sudden stop, approached them, their faces filled with inquiry.
Nathan observed Henry's focused expression, his senses still on high alert, as he continued to sniff the air. They were still on Snapdragon's territory, and Nathan wondered what could be causing his Alpha's unease.
In an instant, Henry's green irises transformed into the blood-red eyes of his wolf, and Nathan instinctively took a step back as his alpha's aura electrified the air. Henry's entire being radiated intensity, his senses on high alert, and his body primed for the hunt. But what was he hunting? Nathan wondered.
Without a word, Henry took off with inhuman speed, racing back towards the pack's territory. "Stay here," he called out over his shoulder, leaving Nathan and the royal delegates staring after him in confusion.
"What did he scent?" one of the delegates asked, their voice laced with concern.
Nathan shrugged, his expression grim. "I don't know, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see."

Henry surrendered to his wolf's instincts, allowing the scent to guide him. It drew him in with an otherworldly allure, like a great white shark to a succulent seal, irresistibly pulled by an unseen force. The scent led him to a secluded house on the outskirts of the pack's territory, nestled among trees that concealed it from view. He recognized the familiar scents of Alpha Harris and his Luna, but the third scent is what caught his attention - one that was new and intriguing. He followed the mysterious scent to the back of the house, where a tall tree stood guard beside an open window. Without hesitation, he climbed the tree and entered the room, his senses on high alert. As he looked around, he found himself in a cozy bedroom. The charcoal grey walls complemented the dark green bedding, creating a soothing atmosphere. A plush dark grey carpet covered the floor, leading to a bed situated against the wall on his right. A wooden wardrobe stood guard beside the door opposite to the window, while a desk sat against the wall next to the window, bathed in the fading light. The scent in the room was overpowering, a heady mix of cocoa butter and fruity candy that enveloped his senses.
Henry's ears perked up as he heard the sound of a shower running from the adjacent room, the only other door in the room besides the entrance. His curiosity piqued, he wondered who the occupant of this room might be. He remained still, his gaze fixed on the door as the shower turned off. Footsteps echoed from behind the door, and then it swung open. The scent grew even stronger, enveloping him in its sweet aroma. His breath caught as he laid eyes on the most breathtaking woman he had ever seen.
Water droplets cascaded down her African sunkissed skin as she wrapped a grey towel around herself. Her hair was concealed beneath a pink shower cap, but her piercing eyes sparkled like diamonds as she looked up. Aly's gaze met Henry's, and a yelp escaped her lips as she took in the intruder.
The alpha moved with lightning speed, pinning her against the wall and covering her mouth with his hand. Aly's heart raced as she tried to push him away, but his grip was unyielding.
"I'm not gonna hurt you," Henry said.
His voice sent shivers down her spine. She wanted to fight, but somehow, she found herself believing him. She stopped struggling against him and calmed down. Looking into his eyes, they were the most beautiful forest green she had ever seen, her favourite colour. Sparks erupted wherever his skin made contact with hers.
"I'm going to remove my hand. Don't scream, okay?" he said, and Aly nodded.
He removed his hand and stepped back slightly, giving her space. Aly's gaze travelled up his tall frame, taking in his chiselled features. He was undeniably handsome, with jet-black hair styled in a wavy quiff. His broad chest and shoulders filled out the grey suit perfectly, and the two open buttons on his white shirt revealed a hint of his toned physique. A stubble framed his face, adding a touch of ruggedness to his overall polished appearance.
As she inhaled deeply, Aly was captivated by his scent - a rich blend of wet soil, fresh grass, and a hint of warm vanilla, reminiscent of a rainy day and morning dew.
She felt an inexplicable pull towards him as if a missing piece had finally been found. The sensation was familiar, yet she couldn't quite place it... until suddenly, it clicked. Aly's eyes widened as realization dawned on her, and Henry's expression seemed to indicate he knew exactly what she was thinking.
"Say it..." he urged gently, his finger tracing the curve of her cheek. "Say it."
Aly's heart raced as she swallowed hard, her voice barely above a whisper. "Mate." The word hung in the air like a promise.
As she struggled to comprehend the revelation, her bedroom door burst open, slamming into the wall with a loud thud. Alpha Harris stood in the doorway, Luna Cynthia by his side, their eyes fixed on Henry with a mixture of anger and dread.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Harris thundered, his voice echoing off the walls.
Henry's eyes narrowed in surprise and as he turned to face Harris.
"What are you doing in my daughter's room?" Harris repeated, his voice low and even.
