Chapter 1: A New Life.

During the Edo period, there existed a man, a legend known as Sasaki Kenjiro. His name was known, recognized, and feared by all of Japan. He slaughtered his enemies with no mercy. He walked with skill and greatness. No man has ever defeated him. He was known as the The Striped criminal. Due to the infamous three black stripes tattoo on his forearm. He once put fear in everyone's heart. However, one day, he vanished. He was thought to be dead and if he was not, he would likely be frail and old by now. Sasaki, at the age of 56 years old, has shifted his life of bloodshed and carnage, to a more peaceful and happy one. Now living in a remote town in the outskirts of Japan. Now with a family of two children, and a beautiful wife. With his new found family he saw no reason to continue training. One day, Sasaki and his son, Kyota, are harvesting the crops from their farm. Whilst, his wife and daughter are cooking food for dinner. “Mother, are we going to eat dinner with Father and Kyota?" Ichika asked her mother. “Yes honey, we're going to eat lunch together." Mitsuki answered. The sound of footsteps getting closer and closer to the doors of the house were audible. Ichika knew it was her Father Sasaki and her brother Kyota. “We're home!" Sasaki declares as he opens the door. “Father! Father! Dinner is ready, you're just in time!" Ichika greeted her father happily and joyfully. “Oh, is that so? Is that what I am smelling?” Sasaki responded with a husky and exhausted voice as he pats his daughter's head. Ichika looked up at her father, feeling his rough hand petting her before saying, "Mhm! Mom's cooking is really delicious you know!" Kyota speaks up " Hey! I'm here too you know!” He slightly raises his voice at Ichika signaling that he is jealous that he greeted their father but not him. Ichika apologizes “Sorry Kyota! I forgot about you hehe. "What do you mean you forgot about me?!” Kyota yells at his little sister chasing after her. Ichika runs away, “Stop chasing me you idiot brother!" As they both laugh happily. Miyagi greets her husband, “Honey! Kyota! You're back! I just finished cooking dinner! Shall we eat?”

Sasaki: Let's eat, we're both really tired and hungry!
Kyota: That's right! We're really tired and hungry!
Sasaki: You barely even helped me…
Ichika: Hahaha! Look at you! Acting all cocky! You barely even helped father!

The whole family laughs in delight, happy that they get to eat and spend time together.

Sasaki: Honey, this is delicious!
Miyagi: Really? I'm glad you like it!
Kyota: Father's right mother, your cooking tastes so good! Thanks!
Ichika: Hmph! I helped Mother cook it so thank me too!

The table is filled with laughter. The whole family is enjoying the food that Mitsuki and Ichika cooked. Mitsuki asks her husband, “How was the harvest today honey?” Sasaki answers with a tired look on his face. “It was good honey, we harvested quite a lot of crops today." Mitsuki answers. " Is that so? Well, I can see that you're very tired, shall we go to sleep?” Sasaki murmurs, “Yes, let's… go…”
Sasaki lies in bed with his wife as they snuggle up, Sasaki awakens in a dark room, filled with a thick, black liquid reaching about halfway through his body. Suddenly the room turns crimson red as Sasaki sees all of his past victims crawling out of the black liquid that surrounds him. Together, they gnaw at his skin and bury their nails and teeth into his body. The sharp pain prompting Sasaki to scream in terror. As the corpses reach for something behind Sasaki. He looks back, and he sees his family riding a wooden boat. Sasaki is immediately dragged down by the corpses as he struggles to breathe, whilst he worries for his family. He rises up for air, Ichika! Kyota! Miyagi! As he feels the hands of the corpses dragging him down once again. “NOOOOO!!!" He yells one last time as the corpses drown him.
