Damien's POV:

Watching her dance was the sexiest thing I've seen all night – that is until that woman joined her. Then I had to keep myself from walking over there and ripping that woman's arms off. Gregor had to calm me down a few times, telling me that this is how some women dance – without male partners – to feel safer. I figured I would let it go if it was just that: dancing. But then she kissed her. I swear I saw red. If Danielle didn't warn me that she was human I would've killed her on the spot. This world, this now primarily human world is so difficult because they don't understand the rules. They don't understand anything. They just take. When I growled, anyone in the realm heard me and moved away – they looked around for my intended target and recognized it's her I want. These...humans, they have no idea. They're so dim in comparison to our heightened abilities it makes me curious how they ever survived as a species. Once I mark her, no one will take her away from me again – only death will part us. "Are we dancing or are you going to stare at me?" she asked, placing a hand on her hip and giving me a scowl. Goddess, those lips... I could feel my cock swell behind my pants. I grabbed her head with both my hands and forced my lips on hers. The feeling of her lips on mine sent electricity throughout my body. I pushed my groin into her and heard her moan through our kiss. I could smell how aroused she was despite everyone else around us and wanted to take her badly. I kept one hand on the back of her head and the other snaked around her waist and pushed her body into mine. The feeling of her breasts pressing into my chest sent shivers down to my cock and I didn't know if it could get any harder. "MINE," I growled into her ear. I heard her gasp for air. She pulled away and looked at me with these almost innocent eyes. Goddess it turned me on so much more. I wanted to take her away from everyone and fuck her until I couldn't get it up anymore. The urge to mark her was growing more and more each day, and I didn't know if I was going to keep up my end of the deal. "Maybe we should head back upstairs," she said, looking away to break the trance. "Hm," was all I could say. She led us back upstairs to the lounge, where Gregor and the woman from earlier were already in the midst of exploring each other's mouth. Before they noticed us, Danielle turned us around and closed the curtains behind us and led me to the bar that was on this floor. "He must really like her then..." she said. Is she...jealous? Zeus asked. I couldn't figure it out myself but it made me more suspicious if something happened between them that I should be concerned about. As we were seated at the bar, I noticed she seemed off; her body was facing towards the bar but her head was away – away from me. "Is everything okay?" I asked her. "Hm? Yea, I'm trying to make eye contact with the bartender," she said quickly then looked away again, seemingly for the bartender. She did manage to get her and we ordered our drinks. "So, is there something I should know about you and Gregor?" I asked. She turned her head sharply and made a face. "Why are you asking?" she asked. "It seems like whenever he brings up something from your past, you scold him for it or he's scared to talk to me about it. I want to know if something happened between you two that I should know about. I mean, I like the guy so I won't kill him...yet. But I think I should know if something happened," I said definitively. The bartender came over a minute later with our drinks: triple scotch for me, and a red sangria for her. She took a big sip before she spoke. "Look, I have no issue telling you things from my past but you're not ready for it. You're in the possessive stage still and probably will be for another 50 years or so. How you handle information is going to be key for our relationship, and your relationship with others – specifically my male friends. Bear is friendly and honest but can also be too trusting and dumb. I've warned him not to tell you things unless he's cleared it with me and he's screwed that up already," she said, rolling those gorgeous eyes. "Hmm. Well can you tell me one thing then?" I asked, uncertain if I really wanted to know the answer. "I'll do my best. What is it?" she asked with that raised eyebrow. "Did you ever have sex with Gregor?" I said, staring right at her. Her face changed and she got more serious. I'll kill him! growled Zeus. She hasn't answered yet – we don't know, I said, hoping to Selene the answer was no. She took a deep breath and relaxed her face. "No. I've never had sex with Gregor," she said, looking me straight in the eyes. Oh thank Selene! "But I wanted to..." she said, looking away. WHAT?! Zeus shouted and I growled. She looked back at me with Xena's silver halo around her hazel eyes. "I wasn't in good shape and he was there..." she said, looking into her drink. I didn't notice before but my claws were out and I was gripping the bar, ready to break it into splinters. "But you should know Gregor is a good man. A good friend. Even as a bear, he understood how much pain I was in and knew I needed support rather than a rebound. I would cry at night, thinking I was being quiet and he was sound asleep, he would curl up next to me and let me sob into his big auburn fur. When he became human was when it got more difficult. He kept his distance when he knew I was weak, and supported me however he could. When we were situated with Rhona's family, I knew he would never find happiness if I was around and I knew that I could never be at peace if I used him as a support beam so I needed to go away and regroup myself. He was hurt but understood. So that's when I went to New Zealand," she said, taking another long sip of her drink. I took a moment to digest everything she said. So...it was them not him that felt something? Zeus said, feeling a little guilty at accusing Gregor. Yea, but it was our fault, I said. "I don't feel that way towards him now. He's like a big/little brother. I know how I was feeling was because I vulnerable, and Bear and I have had a conversation about that time but that's in the past now. Now I look at him like he's some hairy, grizzly man-child that I have to check-in with every now and then to make sure he's alive or else I get scolded at," she said with another eye roll and a light chuckle. I let out a chuckle myself thinking how nice it must have been for her to have had someone look after her all this time. "So you see, it's not that there's anything between Bear and I – it's that there's so much between him and I that neither one of us would do anything to ruin the friendship we have. I didn't want him to tell you everything when you weren't ready to understand. I knew you, and Zeus, would immediately think the blame fell on him and would attack him," she said with a raised eyebrow and a smile. I smirked, knowing she had us there. "But I know you – I know everything about you, except for what's happened in the last hundred years. So when the time is right, I think you and I should take a trip and have a few days to unwind and just spill the beans on everything. The good and the bad. How does that sound?" she said, taking another long sip of her drink. I smiled at her. The more I thought about what she said, the more I realized she would always be mine – no matter how she felt about someone else or who she'd been with. She was mine forever. Mark or no mark. She was mine, and I would always be hers. "A getaway? Just you and me? Now that sounds like a good time," I said with a wink and another smirk, then leaned in to kiss her on those juicy red lips.
