A/N: this chapter is a short one cus there wasn't much for me to add I'm just moving the plot along. I hope you like it still! I have really cute and exciting things planned for this fic so stay tuned!
"Hey ya big dummy.." Natsu's ears perked up at her sound of her soft voice. "Hey." His tone was reserved and quiet. She plonked herself beside him, staring at the sunset. She didn't say anything though, just sat there in silence smiling up at the sky.
Natsu couldn't take his gaze off her, his heart pounding out of his chest. He covered it with a hand worried she could hear it. She turned to look at him. Being caught staring at her made him blush aggressively. She still didn't speak, just cocked her head and beamed.
"I'm—I'm gonna go back to the guild." He finally spoke. She nodded, shifting her eyes back towards the clouds. Natsu stood quickly, leaving Lucy to sit alone with Happy.
"Why Sting?" The little blue cat inquired. She was slightly surprised by this question but responded nonetheless. "I dunno really. He was so forward and it all just kinda happened. I still can't decide if I even like him in that way." The girl sighed resting her head in her hands. Happy just nodded and laid down beside her.
"There you are." Lucy's eyes snapped open, turning to the voice that called. "Hey you." She smiled gently at the blonde. "I'm heading off tomorrow. I'll be back to visit in a couple weeks."
She pouted teasingly. "Awh leaving me behind?" His eyes widened and his face turned red "UH- that's not what I-" Lucy giggled and hugged him quickly. "See you then!" She called as she made her way down the street, Happy tagging behind.
The next morning she was greeted by an excitable pair sat in her dining room. "Why are you guys here already!? How did you even get in, Happy I thought you left last night?" She yelled irritably. "What's the big whoop? Ya made us breakfast the other day?" Natsu replied. "That was a special treat! Don't expect that from me everyday!"
"Awhh but we're starving Luce!" Lucy rolled her eyes and sighed. "Fine if you let me get dressed I'll buy you some breakfast." The next thing she knew the two were on all fours bowing their heads. "Thank you our merciful goddess Lucy!" They cried out in unison. "Stop embarrassing me!" She shouted back.
After she had changed the trio had headed out to find somewhere to eat and finally settled on a breakfast bar down the road. "I think my tummy's gonna shrivel up and crumble if I don't get a whole load of fish right about now." The cat whined. "Be patient!".
"Here's your food, enjoy! And.." The waiter placed a small cake in front of Lucy. "Oh, I don't think I ordered this." She responded. "I know, it's on the house." He winked at her.
Seeing this, Natsu was filled quickly with rage, just as he was about to raise a hand to the arrogant man, Lucy piped up. "Uh yeah no. Sorry I have a boyfriend." She crossed her arms narrowing her eyes at the tall man. The pinkette felt his heart drop. Right. He had forgotten.
He gobbled down his food as normal but he couldn't enjoy it fully with the pain in his chest. After finishing their meals, the three made their way to the guild hall. "Natsu, I wanna go on a job!" He looked up at her, her eyes were twinkling. "Alright Luce, bring me back some food?" He replied, his voice sorrowful. "What? Oh! No silly, together I mean!" A smile painted itself across his face. He chuckled. "Okay!"
