Good morning, everyone, the Dean began, his voice carrying across the room. As part of our monthly celebration, we gather to acknowledge those who have excelled in their recent exams. Tonight, we recognize three outstanding students, from each student year who have demonstrated exceptional academic prowess. The Dean started with year fours, then three and then the sophomore. The first position from each year gave a little speech.
He announced he was announcing freshman and a murmur of excitement rippled through the crowd as the Dean continued. Let us start with our third-place winner. Please join me in congratulating Marina Stratus for her remarkable achievement. Marina, please come up to the stage.
Marina, beaming with pride, made her way to the front as the audience applauded. She shook the dean's hand and took her certificate then took her place among the other top performers, her smile reflecting the hard work that had brought her to this moment.
The Dean raised the microphone again. And now, our second-place winner. It is with a hint of surprise and much admiration that we announce Dylan Stark. Dylan, please join us on stage.
As Dylan stood up, a wave of murmurs filled the hall. He had been the top student for the last three months and was known for consistently finishing in first place, Dylan’s second-place standing was unexpected.
The Dean cleared his throat and raised a hand, signaling for silence. Let's hold our applause and allow Dylan to join us he said.
The murmurs subsided as Dylan walked to the stage, a mix of surprise and humility in his expression.Je shook the Dean's hand and took his certificate. Once he was settled, the Dean prepared to announce the top performer.
Finally, we come to our first-place winner, the Dean said, his tone filled with enthusiasm. Please join me in celebrating Adrian Prince, who has achieved the highest marks among all the freshmen, Adrian Prince joined us two months late but due to his perseverance and dilligency he studied hard, and look where it got him. Ladies and gentlemen please let's welcome Adrian Prince to the stage the Dean said smiling.
The audience erupted into applause as Adrian made his way to the stage, his face lit up with a mix of pride and relief. As he took his place, the Dean stepped forward, gesturing for the applause to subside.
Before Adrian gives his speech, I’d like to remind everyone that this monthly celebration is a way for us to acknowledge and honor the hard work and dedication of our students. It's a testament to the excellence we strive for here at Columbia the Dean said.
Adrian took the microphone, his heart racing as he addressed his peers.
Uhh thank you all so much. It’s an honor to be here and to be recognized among such talented individuals. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my family, friends, my frat brothers who made sure I wasn't slacking and who helped me study and the incredible faculty here. I’m grateful for this opportunity and look forward to continuing this journey with all of you. It means so much to me that even though I was two months late to school I could catch up and be standing here Infront of y'all today, thank you Adrian said into the mic.
As Adrian spoke, the room filled with applause once more, a fitting tribute to the exceptional achievements of these standout students.
Adrian took a seat next to Dylan who was looking at him with hate.
Told your ass I was going to rip the position 1 title off you. Have fun in second place Adrian whispered to Dylan but Marina heard him and she laughed subtly.
