Avaritia Haranae was a nation with nothing. It was full of nothing but sand, wastelands, and starvation. It didn't matter where you looked, which peak or high place you stood on and looked from. There were only sand and dunes. That was the ''beautiful'' horizon of the nation.
One might say it's natural, nature and climate played a part. But, it wasn't always like this.
Avaritia also had greenness in it once, even thick, dark green taigas and many juicy, exotic fruits. But the former king got rid of the greenery to ruin the home to many people, just for his own satisfaction, and to build himself whatever he desired.
After the drought began, the people came to the King to dispute with the King. But, one was as sly as a desert longear and as slithery as a snake. He manipulated the people into thinking they couldn't live without their King, without him, they would fully starve and die out. He promised the food and justice, and water. He degrated them, called them weak, pathetic, and helpless. They weren't intelligent, so they believed his words as if it was some deity speaking. But, from a view, it was true. With the drought arising and lack of fertile land, they needed help.
Of course, all of his words were lies. They didn't receive anything. Just like that, over the years, the former King had full control of the nation. Everything was right in the palms of his hands. Why didn't anyone fight back? Why didn't they overthrow him?! Well, it would be pointless. It would result in death and words that didn't reach anybody's ears.
So, even if it was nature itself that parched itself, the royals were to blame for it.
The territory was naturally passed down to the present King. Thus, he didn't need to do anything. Due to such work of inheritance, the people could not see an opening to freedom. Their future was not in their hands. This was the ugly truth all had to face of the nation Avaritia Haranae.

It was obvious as the desert sand that there was lack money, of gold, in Avaritia Haranae. The people could barely buy and trade between one another. If not in hand gold, then it would be promises that become payment. Mostly empty promises. But it wasn't that they were lying, it was because their lights dimmed.

The Deity Eden had gotten accustomed to was already full of plans to keep hers, as a Deity's, promise to overthrow the Kings. None knew of the change that was coming. And no one had to. Dark clouds were coming over the nation, clouds they, as people, hadn't seen in what felt like decades.
Clouds of a rainstorm even the King himself hadn't foreseen. Clouds he wouldn't be able to stop.
