„Ah, thank you for your help."
„Appreciated."
„Thanks!"

They had managed to complete enough quests, aswell as requests from maybe farmers or citizens, in order to aquire about 500 gold. Taking away the food expenses and other necessities, it should last until they came to....well, a lesser known village. There, they had to prepare properly in order to wander through the Bastion of Elements.
„Hm. I could buy apples, they last quite long....hm. I should also make sure to stock up on threads, just in case something rips. Different colours? Not necessary."
Y/N was mumbling their shopping list. Apples were definitely needed, aswell as thread, they had top priority. Next up, they had to check if their waterbottle was still watertight. Then, buy some meat, if it was cheap enough and definitely dry it, to keep it for as long as possible.
Luckily, Ranhorn seemed to have good booths here and there, it was a pretty famous and well-visited city afterall.
Preparing for their departure, they decided to go back to the tavern and have one last drink, before they bid their goodbye.
„...."
Watching thefriendly as ever red-haired woman, Y/N found themselves wondering about the card again. Even though they hadn't been actively thinking about it, it's impression was still lingering in the back of their mind.
What if....what if they asked Dolly about the card? The special one.
„...Dolly, I have a question to ask, if you don't mind."
That's it. They needed clarity. Nothing could happen, if they knew enough.
„Sure, what would you like to ask?"
„I have had this card. The tenth I have pulled yesterday, the last one. Say, have you felt anything...off about it?"
„Off? Not really. All the cards were the same, I even mixed them before."
„No, no. I don't mean any scams, I mean-....is there a list of characters of the game?"
„Yes, but why do you need it? Was there a suspicious one?", Dolly asked, tilting her head in concern and yet again confusion.
„Do you have one here?"
„I do, wait I will just get it real quick...."
After handing them the list, Y/N noticed one thing. The game characters were only listed in names and titles and they did not read the title 'Augmented Death', anywhere, at all.
At this point, they should be feeling extreme nervousity and unease. They should be feeling lost, concerned, afraid.
A card not in the game had showed up and not let anybody else know of it's existence, except for them.
