You look up at the numbers displayed above the elevator doors—you were nearing your floor.
Saying that you were nervous was an understatement. Yes, you were glad that you'd been allowed an interview with the Xianyun, but rumors flied around that she was very intimidating.
You heard a ding, and the elevator doors opened.
Stepping outside the elevator, your heart began to pound inside your chest and beads of sweat formed on your forehead. A girl with blue hair approached you.
Good afternoon. How may I assist you? she said, the smallest trace of a smile displayed on her face. If you weren't so attentive due to your immense amount of nervousness, you wouldn't have noticed how her lips slightly curved.
I-I'm here to interview Ms. Xianyun. Is she here?
Ah, yes. I've heard of you. Follow me.
-
And that's how you got here. Fidgeting in your seat as a very intimidating—yet admittedly very attractive—woman stared you down.
Her eyes could burn holes into your body. It felt like she could see through you and look into your soul.
Are you going to ask questions, or are you just gonna stare like a dog? her voice snapped you out of the trance-like state you were in. Her eyes were mesmerising, you had to admit.
Your coworkers truly weren't exaggerating when they said that she looked breathtaking.
Maybe her strict demeanor added to the breathtaking part too.
Ah, s-sorry ma'am. First, would it be okay with you if I recorded the audio of our interview today?
She was silent for a few moments.
Today? Do you plan on returning? she looked somewhat amused. You could've sworn she even smirked—but no that surely couldn't be.
When you blinked and looked again her expression was the same as before. Blank and almost irritated. Was I hallucinating??
N-No ma'am I-... Just-.. Can I record or not?
She looked surprised when she heard your tone, but her expression slowly melted into something akin to amusement. She smirked-and this time you could clearly see it.
Yes, darling. Go ahead, she walked around to sit in the chair beside you, and looked you directly in the eye. You felt like you could melt right there and then.
Go on. Ask me your "questions."
W-Well, Ms. Xianyun-
Please, just Xianyun. Drop the formalities.
Your eyes widened and you could do nothing but stare.
Yes... Okay, Xianyun.
-
The interview had been going on for a few minutes now. Her fluency and confidence when answering was so-.. Attractive?
You'd find yourself staring at her lips or into her eyes too intensely—and at moments you'd thought she was doing the same to you too. She couldn't be though. That's impossible.
You were at the end of the list of questions now. The last question, which you admit was a bit personal.
You needed at least a few questions like these to get reads and views though.
Well, Xianyun.. For our last question, do-
Last?
U-Uhm, yes. Why?
Hmm... I was hoping you could stay a tad bit longer. Not a problem though, continue.
Huh? Is that right? She wants me to-.. Whatever. Just get on with the interview, Y/n. Ask her after.
This question is a bit personal... A-Are you currently seeing anyone? Any interesting people in your life as of now?
Upon hearing the question, Xianyun's eyes widened. She seemed surprised—but that shocked expression quickly went away as it was replaced by a look that emanated mischief and amusement.
..Are you sure that's part of the list, Ms. L/n? she said before chucking. It seemed like she was having fun. Well.. Yes. There is someone interesting in my life right now.
You felt almost disappointed to hear that. Well, obviously that's good for the article since it'd spark up some opinions and attention towards the interview, but on a personal note you were hoping that she'd been "single."
A small part of you hoped that the looks she gave you during the interview meant something.
You began to note that down, when suddenly you heard her clear her throat, and her touch on your shoulder.
I'm talking to her now, darling.
