Summer had arrived, and with it came the freedom to spend uninterrupted days together. No more school pressures, just Ishuu and me. Every day felt like an adventure, yet also like a dream that I didn't want to wake up from. The time we spent together seemed to pass both quickly and slowly, every moment feeling more meaningful than the last.
Our favorite park had become a second home for us. It was quiet, peaceful, and ours. We often found ourselves there, sitting under the large oak tree where we had shared so many conversations and kissed for the first time. Today was no different.
Ishuu sat beside me, her hand loosely in mine. The summer air was warm, and a light breeze brushed through the trees. There was something special about this evening, a quiet anticipation between us. I could feel it, and I knew she did too.
“I can’t believe summer’s already halfway over,” Ishuu said softly, looking up at the sky. Her voice had a touch of wistfulness.
“I know,” I replied, squeezing her hand gently. “But we still have time. We’ve got plenty of summer left to make more memories.”
She smiled at me, though there was something thoughtful in her expression. “It feels like things have changed between us, Minkuu. In a good way.”
I nodded. “Yeah, I feel it too. We’ve gotten a lot closer.” My voice was steady, but inside, I was buzzing with emotions.
Her dark eyes met mine, filled with warmth. “It’s like we’ve grown into something more. I didn’t expect to feel this way, but here we are.”
I hesitated for a moment, then reached out to gently brush her cheek. “I didn’t expect it either, but it’s the best surprise.”
We sat there, looking at each other in the golden glow of the evening. Slowly, I leaned in, closing the distance between us. Our lips met in a soft kiss, tender at first, but it deepened with every passing second. I felt her relax into me, her hand resting on my chest as we kissed, each movement slow and full of emotion.
I pulled back slightly, just enough to look into her eyes. She smiled, and I couldn’t help but kiss her again, this time trailing soft kisses down to her cheek and along her jaw. Each kiss was slower, more intimate, a way to say everything I felt without needing words.
I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her closer into a warm embrace. We sat like that for a while, her head resting on my shoulder, my hand gently stroking her back. The closeness between us wasn’t just physical; it was emotional, like we had reached a new level of understanding.
“I love how safe I feel with you,” Ishuu whispered, her voice barely audible.
I kissed the top of her head softly. “And I love having you here with me. You make everything better.”
We spent the rest of the evening like that, wrapped in each other’s arms, talking about everything and nothing. The summer breeze played through the trees as the sun began to set, casting the park in soft, warm light.
As the night crept in, we decided to walk back, our hands still intertwined. It was one of those moments where words weren’t necessary. The connection we shared spoke louder than anything we could say.
This summer had become more than just a break from school. It was the time where we discovered what we meant to each other, and I knew that whatever came next, we’d face it together.
But even in the warmth of our time together, I noticed something had started to change. It was subtle at first, small shifts in her mood or a distant look in her eyes when I talked about my day. But soon, those little changes grew into something I couldn’t ignore.
