Prologue

Everyone is looking at me.

It was rather hard to ignore.

Please, just let me be as I was.

Their murmurs were everywhere and pointed at him.

This is too much...

A group of girls were chattering to themselves;

"Wow, who's that guy?"

"He's cute~. How have I not seen him before?"

"Do you think he's single?"

Please, just leave me be.

Even some of the guys were taking notice;

"Does someone like that go to school here?"

"I've never seen him before."

"Is that his natural hair color?"

Uhg, just let me die again. This time permanently...

Part 1

Without a want to be popular or even recognized, Rush was always one to be able to slip by unnoticed. But the sudden change to him yesterday seemed to have a greater effect than could have been predicted.

His first noticeable change was that his hair had grown nearly a foot in length. He got home and was able to cut it short to where he had it before.

Waking up, he found himself with a mouth full of hair. It only took overnight for it to come back to the length it was. But there was one more noticeable change. That burnt auburn that was so dark no one cared about was now a deep, crimson red. The light would catch the color and show that blood-red color to the world.

There wasn't enough time in the morning to deal with the length or the color. Rush was stuck having to come around and doing his best to manage it. The best he had was to grab some hair ties from the pharmacy on the way to school. At least then he could get it up off his neck.

He had never had a ponytail before. It had to be high on the back of his head to keep the length from tickling his neck.

Everything was fine. It wasn't until he started down the road to the school that he heard things. "Is he a student here?"

He cut through the courtyard to the far building. His refuge was going to be the clubroom. He b-lined it to the room to find the door unlocked and the room empty.

Why sit in a chair when you can lean against the wall? Rush stepped inside and fell to the floor using that wall to slow him down. His bag found its own home next to him as he got a chance to breathe.

His anxiety was sparking. He didn't even know that this was an issue. He had always just kept his head down, done his due diligence, and nobody paid him any mind. He was only boisterous when needed.

The door clicked as the knob was turned. A familiar blue-haired beauty stepped in almost tripping over him. "I thought I saw you come this way."

Rush's distressed look shifted her mood. "Oh dear..."

Marie stepped in, clicking the lock behind her. She moved to be square with him. She kneeled adjusting her skirt to be more modest. She lifted his head to see that his eyes were bright. They were a beautiful deep green yesterday but now they were a colorful green when the light hit them.

"Oh... dear... oh my..."

She looked him over before touching his face. His hair had changed. Yesterday it was shoulder-length. Today it was even longer. That burnt auburn color that enamored her had turned into this crimson that struck deep.
