The Tables Turn

The air in the city simulation grows heavier as my traps start to close in on them... for now I was just freaking them out and as Izuku would say it.... playing mindgames with them. Each step the heroes take feels more desperate, more frantic. They're scrambling to come up with a plan, but by now, the battlefield is mine. There's no way out.

Midoriya was right—none of them are prepared for this.

From my vantage point, I watch as Team Bakugo charges ahead recklessly. But I don't care about them right now. I've already set my sights on the others—specifically Team Kaminari, who's lingering on the outskirts, clearly trying to avoid a direct confrontation.

Let's make sure they can't run away anymore.

I focus my quirk, sending a cascade of ice crashing down, cutting off their escape routes. Kaminari's team spins around, startled by the sudden shift in the landscape. Their backs are literally against the wall now.

Sero: Uh, Kaminari, what's the plan?

Kaminari: We—uh—crap.

Me: Too slow.

I create another barrier of fire, pushing them into a narrow alley. Kaminari tries to send a bolt of electricity toward me, but it dissipates into the flames. He can't get close enough without frying his own team.

Kaminari: This is bad. Really bad.

I leap from my perch, landing silently a few blocks away. I don't need to get close. With a quick burst of my quirk, I freeze the ground beneath them, watching as Sero's tape skids uselessly against the ice.

Time to take out their mobility.

Kaminari's panic grows as his teammates flail on the ice, unable to get their footing. Sero tries to shoot out more tape to stabilize himself, but it's no use. The ice has robbed them of any chance to maneuver.

Kaminari's next.

His electricity won't save him here.

With a flick of my wrist, I send another wave of ice toward him, this time targeting his legs. He jumps to avoid it, but I'm faster. The ice catches his feet, locking him in place. He fires off a desperate jolt of electricity, but I've already stepped back, watching as he struggles to break free.

Kaminari: I'm stuck! Guys, help!

Sero: Kaminari, hold on! I've got—

Before Sero can finish, I send a sharp burst of flame toward him, not enough to seriously injure, but more than enough to knock him off balance. He crashes into the ice, his arms flailing as he tries to catch himself with his tape.

And then there were two.

Yaoyorozu, the only one left standing, steps forward, her face set in determination. She's already creating something—probably a shield or some gadget to counter me. But she's too late. I've already calculated her moves.

Me: You're smart, Momo. But smarts won't save you here.

Izuku is way smarter....

I raise my hand, releasing a stream of ice that forms a cage around her, locking her in place before she can even finish creating her device. She struggles against the frozen bars, but it's no use. Her movements are slow, sluggish. The cold's already seeping into her muscles.

Yaoyorozu: I—won't—give up—

You already have.

With Kaminari stuck, Sero down, and Yaoyorozu trapped, I've effectively neutralized the entire team. Their only option now is to give up, and from the looks on their faces, they're starting to realize it too.

Me: One team down. Time to move on.

I glance toward Bakugo's team in the distance. I can see the explosions from here—he's still fighting his way through the traps. He'll make it to me eventually. But I'm not worried.

Let him come.

I'll be ready.

I turn my attention to another group, led by Iida, who's desperately trying to coordinate his teammates. I know he's fast, but Midoriya was right—speed won't help him on this terrain.

Iida: We need to regroup! Stay together, and we can—

Before he can finish, I freeze the ground beneath them, sending another team sliding helplessly across the ice. Iida tries to stabilize himself, but even with his engines, he's struggling to maintain control.

Iida: Everyone, watch out

You're all too predictable.

With a flick of my wrist, I send a wave of fire toward them, forcing them to scatter. Iida, Uraraka, and Kirishima try to regroup, but I'm already anticipating their movements. Another ice wall shoots up, cutting them off from each other.

Iida: We can't keep up with him! He's—

Me: Too fast? Too smart? Yeah, I know.

Kirishima, always charging ahead without thinking, tries to break through one of the ice walls. His quirk makes him tough, but it's not enough to shatter the ice. He slams into the wall, recoiling as the cold saps his strength.

Me: You're strong, Kirishima. But not strong enough.

With another flick, I send a sharp wave of ice toward him, knocking him off his feet. He grunts, trying to push himself up, but the cold is already taking its toll.

Kirishima: Damn it...

Uraraka is next. She's trying to float above the battlefield, but I'm already prepared. A sharp gust of fire sends her spiraling, forcing her to land clumsily before she can even get her bearings.

Uraraka: Ouch!

Me: Sorry, but you're grounded.

With Iida's speed neutralized, Kirishima down, and Uraraka too disoriented to fight back, I've taken out another team. The battlefield is mine, and they're falling like dominos, just as Midoriya predicted.

This is what happens when you don't plan ahead.

I survey the chaos below me. The heroes are scattered, isolated, and on the defensive. Exactly where I want them. The fear is starting to creep into their faces now, the realization that they're not winning this fight. Not against me.

One more push, and they're done.

I leap from the rooftop, ready to finish what I started.
