The next morning you were awake before the sun had risen across the oceans surrounding Pabu. At first the darkness made you think of the room, but your fears were quickly swayed by the pajamas and soft blanket covering you. You weren't sure any of the others were even awake since it was still dark outside. You rolled over in bed a few times, trying to fall back to sleep but to no avail. You searched about the room in the shadowed morning light and realized that Tech had gotten up. Last you had seen him he was resting against your bed, hopefully comfortable enough to sleep, but determined to keep you company none the less. You had expected to get a nightmare about the room but surprisingly you had just slept right through the night.

--Guess I'll go see if there is any coffee ready-- You decided and got out of bed, sleepily walking through your doorway into the main room. Tech was sitting on the couch, the pot of coffee on the short table between the couches, accompanied by two cups.

"Did I wake you?" Tech asked seeing you appear from your room.

"Morning" you yawned "not at all".

You stumbled over to the couch and plopped down next to Tech, immediately cuddling up to him. Your blankets had been cozy and now that you had cooled down on your way out here, snuggling up to Tech was warm and comforting. Tech wrapped an arm around you and you scooted even closer to him, bringing your legs up onto the couch and leaning on him fully.

"Are you sure you did not wish to continue resting?" Tech asked, as he leaned forward and poured one cup of coffee. Tech had some doubts about how awake you really where, he had only been out here for perhaps ten minutes before you made an appearance. --Most likely my absence was noticed on some subconscious level-- Tech though to himself with a slight smile.

"Affirmative" you yawned again "I need whatever your havin".

Tech smiles quietly and pours the second cup. These were not the mugs he had on the ship, but they would suffice given their volume. He moves your cup closer to the edge of the table so that you would be able to reach it, but since you gave no motion to move towards it he left it and started to sip his own. As soon as he leaned back on the couch with his coffee you relaxed further into him feeling comforted and peaceful all over again.

"Its nice to wake up here" you comment quietly "Toola was cold, and for a moment I thought I was still in that room".

"Did you have any nightmares that may have resulted in that belief?" Tech asked and you shook your head slightly against him.

"No, I actually slept amazing. Deeper then I did while we were doing watch rotations on Toola" you explained "but the darkness, waking up and seeing it again reminded me. I know it sounds silly, but when I was stuck there"--you sat up straighter next to Tech and grabbed your cup of coffee--"I would imagine this. Cups of coffee in the morning, repairing the ship, you, the others. Maybe it was just how the room made my mind turn to slush. I'm not even sure if they were memories or if my mind just made them up. But at some point I would open my eyes, at least I could feel they were open, and it would still be dark."

"That sounds quite frightening" Tech replied kissing you on the forehead as he patiently listened.

"it was" you sigh "Although, in many ways I'm glad they just left me alone. The Corporal at that station was off-putting, and I didn't want to be in the room with him. He'd come back and ask questions but I don't remember saying anything. I was usually to busy eating whatever they had given me or reacting to the light. As snarky as Crosshair is I'm thankful he got me out of there. Not to mention how happy I am to be back here with you" you finish with a smile, kissing Tech on the cheek.

"It is quite assuring that you were contained in a secure location and were able to evade their search attempts to return here. From what I could dig up Crosshair pursued this course of action through his own volition, so it was not something thought up by his superior" Tech commented, starting to think out loud. You hadn't thought about the possibility that Crosshair might just be using you to get back to the Bad Batch. Although, your reasoning for believing the clone was because your senses had told you he was telling the truth, he had genuinely been in trouble and was not on the Coporal or Empires side. Of course, your senses also knew that Crosshair was speaking the truth when he mentioned rescuing you because you were just some liability he needed to take care of.
