Year 845 | Age 10. Trost District, Wall Rose.
You could feel it coming. You didn't know the exact timeline—Attack On Titan never specified the exact months when everything happened—but your gut told you it was close. Wall Maria would fall, the refugees would pour into Wall Rose, and in three years, the 104th Training Corps would begin.
And you were right. Just days after that feeling crept up on you, it happened. The ground shook beneath you, and for a moment, you could have mistaken it for an earthquake. But you knew better. Running outside, you saw others flooding into the streets, confusion and fear written all over their faces. Gossip spread like wildfire, and soon, the truth broke through the whispers—Wall Maria had been breached. The titans had come.
Your heart clenched at the thought of how many would die. But what could you have done? Warned people? They would have laughed at you, maybe worse. You would be labeled insane, a traitor, someone trying to 'defy the monarchy'. And once the disaster actually happened, all eyes would have turned to you. So you did what you always do best, you turned a blind eye. Pretending not to care was easier, safer. People would die, but there was no point drowning in guilt. You needed to focus on who you could save.
Your memories had started to blur as the years passed, but thankfully, you had been smart enough to write everything down as soon as you could. From what you could recall, the Training Corps wouldn't be too dangerous—at least not enough to be life-threatening. The real chaos begins after graduation. Wall Rose would be breached too, Marco would die. Though his death should be the easiest to prevent. All you had to do was watch him, keep him from straying where he shouldn't.
Reiner, Bertholdt, and Annie..they were the real threat. You knew their secret, and if they even got a hint that you did so, you had no doubt they would kill you without hesitation. Maybe it was best to steer clear of them altogether, but even that could look suspicious if you weren't careful.
So that was the plan: Survive the Training Corps. Don't get kicked out, don't get killed by the three traitors.
Sounds simple enough, right?

Year 845 | Days Later. Trost District, Wall Rose.
Everything had gone exactly as you had expected, at least as far as you could tell. The refugee camps were thrown together quickly—makeshift shelters, abandoned buildings with nothing but cold floors to sleep on. No beds, no real comfort. But that was par for the course, wasn't it? Even though you knew Eren, Mikasa, and Armin were certainly safe, you still couldn't shake the gnawing feeling in your gut. You needed to see it for yourself, to calm the storm of paranoia swirling in your mind. You didn't even know in what shelter they were in, but it wouldn't hurt to check the closest ones.
