i walk into the office as i do every morning.
"hello little sis."
i hear. reece is stood next to marjories desk. probably giving her her morning coffee. i nod and say.
"big brother."
i sit at my desk and put my bag on the side, marjorie smiles at me. gosh her smile... how is she so- i snap out of it realising i was staring, i smile a little back and turn back to my computer. soon, reece leaves so its just me and marjorie.
"so, how did you sleep?"
i hear marjorie say.
"good thanks, you?"
i reply. i need to keep the conversation going.
"thats great! and good thanks."
she does her smile, that perfect smile...
we get interrupted by some parent storming into the office.
"your workers are absolutely insane!!"
says a woman with short black hair, just like winters.
"im sure they're not."
i say, with a raised eyebrow, not even looking up from my computer, its not worth it.
"oh autumn... hello..."
she says, her tone changing, they always do that around me. god do i hate it...
"yes hello. now why are the staff 'insane'?"
i look up at her.
"i-... its fine! dont worry about it, bye marjorie! bye autumn...!"
she says my name like its forbidden. why do they treat me like this. im not that bad... right? marjorie mustve spotted how... upset? i looked.
"you okay?"
she says which catches me of guard, i say what i always say.
"fine."
silence pierces its way through the room... its so painfully quiet until winter steps in.
"my love. marjorie."
he says, i look up at him as my face softens. hes the only one who doesnt look at me like im a monster, and he never has.
"my sweet."
marjorie sighs and says
"how can i help you, winter?"
why the sigh?... is she mad? oh god did i do somethi- my thoughts get cut off by winter replying.
"im not sure if that parent said anything bu-"
"she didnt and i dont want to know."
marjorie cuts him off. shes really irratated... winters eyes widen a little on how fast she had snapped.
"i- uh... okay i guess."
he looks at me a little confused and i shrug at him. he leaves the office and i ask marjorie.
"are you okay?"
she looks up at me, like nobodies ever asked her those three simple words before.
"i.. yeah im fine thanks."
i squint at her a little.
"im always here to talk, you know that?"
she smiles warmly and nods.
"i do thanks aut."
my nickname sends shivers down my spine, its not the nickname its the way she says it, its so perfect, SHES so perfect. god why do i think this way...

(time skip)

after the day ends marjorie had invited me to get drinks and of course i'd never turn her down so i said sure, were now at the bar and the waiter, sara, comes over to our table.
"good afternoon marjorie, and autumn."
she smirks a bit at me when she says my name
"what can i get you today?"
she says joyfully.
"just a red wine for me."
i say. oh red wine, my favourite.
"and white for me!"
marjorie says with a smile, fiddling with her 'R' necklace. i swallow. that necklace should say 'A'... not 'R'... reece and winter walk into the bar and sit at our table.
"marjorie. my love."
winter greets us.
"marj, little sis."
reece does the same.
"hey reece. winter."
marjorie nods as she says winters name, her body tensing up, she looks almost angry.
"my sweet"
i greet winter and marjories eyes narrow a bit as shes reading the menu.
"big-... brother..."
i say, my eyes flashing between marjorie and him. mine and reeces eyes meet and he shrugs, i frown a bit but turn back to the menu.
"weve ordered drinks already."
i say to break the silence.
"oh thats fine, we'll just order when she comes back my love."
i notice how marjories eyes narrow at THAT aswell, somethings definitely wrong... i realise i hadnt said anything to winter yet so i just reply with a simple;
"ok, my sweet."
as i say his nickname i watch how marjorie tenses up, breaths out, and un-tenses. whats going on with her? does she feel the same? no way... shes dating reece... right?...
