—Oh but Sa'niya and Lamoura' they do besties better then anyone
& here's why...
The time didn't seem to be on her side according to Sa'niya, but that's because she's been in this town for as long as she could remember. Her mind always drifting off just curious on if she would ever make a friend, maybe a best friend even, if' she's lucky enough considering Sa'niya's personal issue..
It seemed to be a very calm and collective day in Decatur, Georgia unlike any other. "Don't be late Sa'niya" Her mother shouted at her from the car, she rolled her eyes before stepping out of the car and started walking towards the building.
—
"Okay class, we have a new student, come on now don't be shy" Mrs.B reassured the young Lamoura' as she slowly began to walk into the classroom with her head slightly raising to glance around the classroom.
"Hi pretty girl, I will be your English teacher for the year, you can sit whenever you would like. But we are starting a class project today, I can have your partner catch you up & you'll have two day extend since this is your first day." Mrs.B stated firmly but tried to be welcoming towards the new girl.
"She look good" Sa'niya said out loud, but what she didn't realize was her girlfriend Serenity was sitting right next to her sleep..
Early morning bird get's the worm right?
"Okay now class, let's give- what's your name again sweetheart" Mrs.B questioned, the young girl looked up before saying softly, "Lamoura".
The voice was all Sa'niya had to heard before she started falling head over hills for this 'Lamoura'. Lamoura didn't know it yet but she's in for a world of trouble.
—
"Okay class now, I'm going to pair you up with a partner or you can choose your own, you know what forget it. We are going to vote" Mrs.B said
"Raise your hand if you would like to pick your own partners" Sa'niya shot her hand up quickly along with the other 75% of the class did as well.
"Raise your hand if you would like me to pick out your partner's" A quick glance around the classroom was all it took, 25% of the class raised their hands including our new girl, Lamoura.
"Lamoura since your new, I can partner you with Sa'niya." As soon as Mrs.B said those words, Sa'niya face instantly lit up with smiles all around the board.
Well, looks like we aren't letting Mrs.B pick our partner's. Causing her to smile at the thought
"Sa'niya raise your hand please, so Lamoura' can come and y'all can work together"
Once again, Sa'niya hand shot up quickly, was she doing too much? She thought to herself before putting her hand back down as Lamoura' started walking towards her.
"Hi, my name is-" Lamoura started to say her sentence but got cut off as the fire alarm went off. Instantly shocking everyone in the class, Lamoura confused and scared of the loud noise quickly hid under the desk.
"Come on pretty girl, it's a fire drill we always do. I'll tell you more about it outside" Sa'niya said as she carefully put her hand out so Lamoura can grab it.
As she did, everyone in Mrs.B's classroom headed to door and soon headed outside to finish practicing the fire drill that they do every two months.
"So, now that we are outside, tell me everything about you." Sa'niya accidentally blurted out due to the fact that Lamoura beauty made her shy.
"Well, my name is Lamoura, but obviously you know that already. Im originally from New York, Frm the big Apple you heard" Lamoura giggled a little as her accent came out after she said that.
But she continued her sentence, "Idk why we moved here honestly, My father doesn't live with us. My mom told me he was crushing another lady back in and we lost all respect for him once we found out he was having an affair." Lamoura spoke calmly, but her eyes started to water from speaking on her father.
She loved her father, she was a true daddy's girl. If you told her something wrong or anything bad her father did, she wouldn't believe it for nothing. But, once she heard this she knew it was true. Her father had been acting very off and distance months prior.
She wasn't dumb, she can easily piece two and two together, Lamoura cried and wrote a letter to her father saying "I know what you did last spring", and slid the piece of paper under the door as she headed out for school one day and once she returned home, he wasn't nowhere to be found.
He left because of guilt and that crushed her and her mother.
"But, what's your favorite season? What do you like to do at home? I would love to get to know you" Sa'niya worded out perfectly, before they all went back into the building and headed for Mrs.B classroom so they can finish their conversation.
"My favorite season would have to be fall, it's a lot of activities to do in the fall and I would definitely enjoy it if I had somebody to do these activities with, I love trick of treating, I casually enjoy the matching Halloween pajamas's and carving pumpkins".
"I like reading, I often write letters when I'm at home or I'll binge watch Grey's Anatomy, head out to the park or walk to the store" Lamoura' finished off her statement before she cleared her throat and the bell had rung for the next class period she assumed but the class was actually over.
"Ok, I enjoy most of those, I think we'd become great friends. Do you think the same?" Sa'niya questioned as she grabbed onto Lamoura's hand trying to keep her attention as the two walked the halls together heading out of the main doors to leave.
"Yeah, I'd think we be good friends, I think this is the part where I ask for your number" Lamoura' laughed a little as she pulled out her phone and handed it over to Sa'niya.
They definitely go together really bad in Sa'niya's head now.
But little does she know, Sa'niya has abandonment issues from her father leaving her family as she grew up. Sa'niya truthfully hoped she wouldn't scare Lamoura' off, if she did I don't think she would be able to live with the fact she ran off the only friend she ever had..
