the trial was about to take place and Kakashi had already assumed he knew what would happen. either he would be put to death as a traitor of the leaf, or spend the rest of his days in a jail cell, reminiscing of days of old. either way, they did not sound all that appealing. yet, he also hadn't taken into consideration the fact that Obito, or tobi as he now seemed to go by, would show up and save him. which he should have thought of, stupid that he didn't as the male barged into the office, hauled Kakashi up and sped out like all the demons of hell were after his ass, which was almost right. the anubus were notorious hardasses and did not want to let them go in pieces. they were both traitors, which made sense. kakashi could feel them gaining, and was worried in what that could mean. they could both be dead by the end of this, most of the time anbu killed first and asked questions later, and with the rage that Danzo held against them... kakashi couldn't be sure if they would simply kill and not ask questions at all.
"great situation you got us in here Kashi." Tobi grouched as he hefted around Kakashi's body weight.
"oh yeah did i forget to mention i was being tried on traitor accounts? whoops." Kakashi's voice was monotone but Tobi still laughed and continued running. "you could put me down, I know how to run and fight." Kakashi demanded and he could feel the eye roll. "I know you do but I'm not sure if we have the time." obito said as he looked back for a second to see what exactly was going on. "if we could just kill them it might be easier to lose them" he mumbled more to himself than anything but kakashi still slapped his back.
"no absolutely not, they are just following orders," he said and there was a groan from Obito.
"fine fine! we can do it your way, but I'm gonna need you to hold on cause I'll have to do something to get away from them since you've gone and gotten soft on me." he scoffed and Kakashi just laughed. he missed this, missed him.
Narutos pov
It had been about an hour since they had left and I was sitting on the kitchen counter observing Sasuke as he began to cook.
"what dobe? you're staring." Sasuke said a smile on his face. I shook my head and looked towards the window that was there.
"It's nothing just wonder what your play is going to be here," I say before looking back at him. now he frowns as he wipes his hands and moves to stand in between my legs.
"what do you mean?" he asks and I snort.
"oh like you don't know"
"no, I don't know that's why I'm asking you." his eyebrows are furrowed as if he is really confused. I sigh and look at him, my unhurt hand fighting with the end of my shirt.
"what are you supposed to do with the leaf?" my voice is soft, almost non-existent.
"I'm not doing anything with them. I'm leaving."
"you can't do that!" I sputter and his smile is back.
"I'd do anything for you, and last time I left, you had to go and get kidnapped."
"I can't help that! it wasn't the plan and you know that."
"Well, I can't save you if I'm not here now can I?" he turns and goes back to cooking and I bite at my lower lip.
"yeah, but what about your life there?"
"I never had a life there, not without you. I've already talked to my family about this and they have encouraged me to go where I see fit, and I see that with you, so don't tell me how to live my life." his tone was final and absolute.
"if that's really how you feel"
"it is and I hope you can see how happy you make me!"
"you make me happy too," I say softly and he turns and kisses me softly. "I love you," I say and he kisses me again and I smile, knowing exactly what he means.
