When round two of Duleep Trophy begins in Anantapur on Thursday few players like Rinku Singh and ShivamDube along with some seasoned name who have been ignored by the national selectors will be aiming to attract their attention.

The star power in the red ball tournament that kicks off the season will be greatly diminished for round two as players from the Indian side have been freed for a national camp in advance of the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai on September 19. The only member of the Indian squad that will compete domestically is Sarfaraz Khan.

In the absence of national regulars, the focus is now going to shift on the likes of Rinku, who was surprisingly not picked for the first round despite having an impressive first-class record. The spirited southpaw has also done well for India in T20 cricket. Shubman Gill joining the national team has led to Mayank Agarwal captaining the India a unit.

The India A team has included pacer Prasidh Krishna, who was not well enough recovered from a left quadriceps tendon to play in the Duleep Trophy opener. Abhimanyu Easwaran, the captain of the India B team, must take the initiative after a lackluster performance in Bengaluru last week.
