But unbeknownst to them, the monastery is blown up and destroyed by a new villain named Emperor Ethan, the youngest brother of Beatrix and Zeatrix, he's seeking revenge on The Ninjas for shutting down the imperium and for what they've done to his beloved sister. They now have no choice but to travel to Brazil and Jay mentions that he has a sister who lives in Rio De Janeiro and she ran away after she and Jay were adopted. Jay's sister's name is Lyra, she is two years younger than Jay, she's a mechanic and she loves street racing in the streets of Rio De Janeiro but Jay doesn't respect her decision to street race. The ninjas must challenge their new foe, Emperor Ethan to an unforgettable duel in Rio before he restores the imperium and destroy the ninjas, Ninjago City and Rio De Janeiro.
Two days after the team arrived in Brazil, Lloyd gets a phone call from an unknown person and tells him to meet him at the parking lot privately. He was a former administration agent who turned out to be an undercover CIA agent who was gathering information about the administration. The agent's name is Marcus Miller and he offers Lloyd to help the team to prepare for their battle against Emperor Ethan
