"Remember the tree we planted together?" a whisper fills the room of silence.
A room where two girls fell deeply in love
A tree that was once but a mere tiny plant
had sprung into a monster. A monster filled with memories
"Yeah, I remember"
2006
"Do you still remember?" another whisper. It was a room
that was once bustling with laughter and joy.
A room decorated to your liking
A room filled with memories
It is now but plain white walls
As long as you were with me, I wanted your attention on me
I never wanted you to notice the shade of white the walls had
or how high the branches sprang up in spring.
I wanted you to notice how my eyes shined when I saw you
or how my hair would turn cherry red in dim light.
But you never did
You never realized my love for you
You never realized how happy I was with you
Now you hang on the tall branches,
Your blood brings color to the once-plain walls
my hands held the rope
my hands held the knife
my hands tinted red
"I'm sorry"
I watch your casket being carried down
Dirt covering your once beautiful face
Flowers covering the last chance to breathe
"rest in peace my love" one last whisper
