So this is a little bit different than what I normally do. It's just some cute fluff, but I was in teh mood for something cheesy and lighthearted. I'm not sure how in-character Vipir and Sapphire actually seem, but I would love to know what you think! c:

The aurora lights weave through the stars like ribbons of silk. Moonlight shines off the lake, creating strange patterns to be seen joyfully playing on the surrounding area.
I sprawl across the grass-covered ground, my head lying on Vipir's chest. His heart is comfortingly steady against all else changing.
I hope it stays like this forever, I think. A little voice from the back of my mind speaks up, devilishly taking the chance to plant seeds of doubt. It won't, the voice says. You know it won't.
"Saph," Vipir's words are laced with pure worry as the question pierces through the night. He must have felt me tense before, realizing something was wrong.
"Yeah?" I ask, attempting, but not achieving, to sound confident.
He tightens his grip and pulls me closer. I can feels his lips delicately brushing the top of my head as he holds me. "I'll never let any harm come to you, you know."
Rather than replying, I duck down to nuzzle my head into his warm side. A calloused hand begins to loosely play with my dark hair, and I reach up to take it.
As if to block out the moon, our hands raise above our head, fingers slowly interlacing. Despite the dimness of the outdoors, the jewel still glints blue against the silver band of my ring- the ring he had gotten for me when I wasn't feeling well.
I guess he can be nice when he wants to be.
With his other hand, Vipir tilts my head to his. A grin plays with his lips, tugging at each corner until the gleaming smile completely develops. As if contagious, the same happens to me until we're both beaming like fools.
Out of no where, I'm suffocated by the sheer force of his lips meeting mine. The roughness is soon replaced with a gentle touch, hardly to be felt. Inside my chest, my heart pounds, overflowing with newly found emotions.
Vipir pulls away after a few moments, his eyes shinning with the same feeling as me. I snuggle closer, my head fitting into the crook of his neck perfectly. His head rests on mine.
The slow breaths we take seem to be in sync, as if what had happened created a new connection that could never be broken.
His arms wrap fully around me, cocooning me in warmth. I sigh, finally happy with my life and everything that had been going on in the last few days. Glover is my father, Delvin is my uncle, and now Vipir is...
I trail off, unsure of where I was going. Of course I have hopes that we'll go somewhere, but I'm not sure about him. Maybe it was just an in-the-moment sort of thing. The voice pops up again. Of course it was. How can anyone ever love you? Your father didn't, that's for sure. Why else would he have left?
As if reading my mind, Vipir says, "Don't let anyone tell you I'm lying when I say this- I love you, Saph."
I choke on my words, and Vipir laughs. "Ahh, tough girl can't say it back? I'll just have to work on that."
Feeling the grin radiating from him, I turn to look at him once more. Our lips meet again, and the bond becomes stronger with each passing moment.
"Of course I can say it," struggling to form words through the kiss, "maybe I just don't want to."
He pulls away, feigning hurt and placing a hand over his chest. "Ouch, Saph. How could you do this to me? And to think. I thought you liked me."
I turn away. My head comfortably rests on Vipir's outstretched arm, and my back faces him. Hair falls over my face, obscuring the view of the night sky. "You thought wrong."
"Maybe I can change your mind." He wrenched him arm from under me, and propped himself up on his elbows.
"Ow," I mutter. "Hurting me certainly isn't going to change my mind."
Other than a slight shake of the head, Vipir ignores me. "Let me replace your ring," he says.
"What? Why?"
I like that ring. It's pretty, and I've worn it for so long, my hands looks bare without it. Why would Vipir want to give me another one? My mind wanders as I search for his reason. Without my knowing, the man sits up and faces me. He has one hand held behind his back, but at the moment, it escapes me. Vipir just looks so.. harmless. His bangs are swept over his eyes. It's odd being able to see them. Normally they're hidden in the shadow of his cowl.
"Give me your hand." I do as he says.
Gently grasping my hand, he slides off the silver ring he gave to me all those years ago. It now glimmers among blades of sharp green grass.
From behind his back, Vipir pulls out a similar sized ring. It's not accented with a jewel, rather an intricate pattern of markings. Almost identical to those on a- wedding band?
"Really?" I manage to whisper. "Why?"
"'Why?'" Vipir laughs softly, his forehead wrinkling as he smiles. "I like you."
I pause before I respond, knowing I'm truthful with my response. "I like you too."
