At Lunch

Jake was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard your voice. He looked up and saw you standing there with a smile on your face.

He felt a wave of excitement and nervousness wash over him, and his heart started to beat faster, but he tried to hide his emotions as he smiled back at you.

"Hey, what's up?"

"Good as ever" she sat next to him

Jake chuckled a bit as he heard your response, he then took another bite of his food before speaking up.

"That's good to hear. Um, can I ask you something?"

"Sure go ahead" she shoved some foods in her mouth

Jake hesitated a bit before asking his question, he was feeling a bit nervous and his heart was beating fast. He took a deep breath before speaking up.

"Can I ask why you...stood up for me earlier? It's just... you didn't need to do that, you know.."

"She was bad mouthing you and as a girlfriend she supposed to support you"

Jake was slightly taken aback by your response, he then let out a sigh and nodded, running his fingers through his hair.

"Yeah, i know... but she's my girlfriend, i could handle it on my own. I don't want you to get into trouble because of me."

"Well...im not trying to break you off from her..but...she isnt good"

Jake was feeling conflicted, he knew that Areum wasn't the best girlfriend, but he was stuck in a difficult situation. He let out another sigh before replying with a troubled look on his face.

"I know... But it's not that easy, i'm stuck in this relationship. I can't just ditch her like that, you know..."

She simply replied "hmm"

Jake was feeling guilty and conflicted, knowing that he wasn't exactly happy in his current relationship. He was also feeling confused about his feelings for you, but he didn't want to admit it to himself.

He looked down at his food, not saying anything for a few moments before speaking up again. "You're not gonna let this go, aren't you?"

Elaine faked laugh "hahaha"

Jake was getting frustrated. He let out a small scoff before replying back with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"You're stubborn, you know that? You're not gonna drop this topic, huh?"

"Ofc i will....do you still like ice coffee?" she placed a smile in her lips

Jake was caught off guard by your sudden question, but he was also secretly relieved that the topic changed. He smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, i still like ice coffee. Why do you ask?"

"Curious.. Ofc" pinches his nose

Jake let out a small huff and scrunched up his nose when he felt you pinching it. He playfully swatted your hand away and let out a sarcastic retort.

"Hey! Stop pinching my nose, it's not a stress ball, y'know."

"You are hehehhehe"

Jake scoffs and rolled his eyes at your response. He was trying to act annoyed, but deep down he was feeling a bit amused by your playful antics.

"You're a menace, you know that? Always being a cheeky little troublemaker."
