Sometimes, it's the things closest to you that are the most annoying yet therapeutic.
(I decided to draw a new banner since it feels more personalized for this story :D)
Jin'ichiro forcefully flung himself out of bed and groggily crawled up to sit on the wooden floor. He absent-mindedly looked around the room, searching for his cursed alarm clock. Sunlight seeped through the curtains. Like a god ray, it shone down on Jin'ichiro's darling alarm clock. The room was an absolute mess. Jini'chiro's notebooks and textbooks littered the floor from the intense cramming session he had the previous night along with his brother, Miyu's toys scattered all over the floor. Just the sight of it gave the teenager a headache. The brunette made an annoyed expression as he walked over, stepping over heaps of books and his brother's Lego bricks. He really didn't want to step on one of those accursed Lego bricks.
After an arduous journey from one side of his shared bedroom to the other, Jin'ichiro finally reached his alarm clock. Picking it up, he then placed it on his study table, which was luckily located right beside the windows. Just as he placed the clock down, a bright turquoise screen glitched into existence right before his eyes. Jin'ichiro squinted his eyes from the sudden brightness, stumbling forward, causing his unfortunate foot to step on an unsuspecting Lego brick.
A stabbing pain shot through his foot.
"Fuck." Jin'ichiro hissed, cursing as he sat down on his chair. For such a tiny Lego brick, it caused him such immense pain. He lifted his foot to examine the impact before carefully plucking the brick out of his foot.
Beads of blood gathered at the dented area.
Jin'ichiro scowled.
Now sat Jin'ichiro on the sofa in his living room while his mother bandaged his bleeding foot at 6am in the morning. Jin'ichiro didn't even know how he managed to get changed and everything with a bleeding foot yet he managed. He stared at his foot, observing the way his mother nimbly fixed up his foot while he listened to her nagging.
"Chiro, are you listening? You need to be careful! What if you get an infection? If you can, don't have your foot sweat too much." His mother droned as she tied up the bandage before patting the male's foot. "Gosh, Chiro, you're already seventeen. Learn to take care of yourself!"
Jin'ichiro quietly nodded. He always found his mother's nagging annoying, but he didn't hate it. He knew that his mom was nagging out of concern for his well-being, and it made him happy knowing that she cared.
Quite the contradiction, Jin'ichiro knew.
He was quickly pulled out of his daze by his mother as she put his school bag down beside him. "Make sure to eat the lunch I've packed. And don't drink sweet drinks from school. Those give you diarrhoea." His mother reminded him as Jin'ichiro nodded, mumbling a "yes mom."
