Fallen white rose
EP_01Friday, my favorite day of the week, had finally arrived. As I stood by the window, my eyes blinked rapidly, taking in the vibrant scene. The cloudy, windy, and dusty weather had transformed the expansive garden into a lush haven. The grassy area, large enough to be a habitat and niche for various species, was rejuvenated, its beauty enhanced by the turbulent weather."
As I began my day, my household staff, led by Nelson, greeted me with a warm 'Good morning, sir.' He presented me with a steaming cup of coffee, perfectly timed for my morning routine. I nodded in appreciation and turned to get ready. After a quick bath and dressing in my blue suit, I grabbed my briefcase and headed downstairs. My staff welcomed me like royalty, befitting a king in his own mansion. At the dining table, I sipped my coffee while sending a meeting alert to my office via my Apple laptop. With 20 minutes to spare, I stood up, and Nelson swiftly collected my briefcase. He opened the car door, and our driver, Ado, greeted me with a polite smile. I nodded and settled into the car, ready to start my day."
For just one second, a single glance away reveals its hidden treasure: savoring the fresh air, one of my garden's best-kept secrets. It fills my lungs, boosts energy, clears my vision, and refreshes my body. The garden is a breathtaking sight, with vibrant flowers showcasing their beauty, birds trilling sweet melodies, and butterflies flitting about.
I swiveled around in my fancy chair, gaze drifting from my Apple laptop to the television. But my attention was suddenly hijacked by a shocking news report that I never saw coming. Just as I was processing the information, the door creaked open after two gentle knocks. 'Come in,' I called out, my voice laced with a hint of panic. But as she slipped in silently, my tension dissipated, replaced by a sense of calm.
"'Lord...' I whispered, barely audible, 'Not again...'
The door creaked open, and she entered, her voice trembling. "Good morning, sir. I'm so sorry to disturb you today... my... my..."
Her legs quivered beneath her, betraying her attempt at composure. I raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "Are you scared again?" I asked, my tone flat.
She hesitated, and I turned my attention to the door, dismissing her.
As she departed, I nodded in silent acknowledgment. Suddenly, a memory flashed through my mind. The first day I met her marked the beginning of a fallen white rose in my heart. Since then, tranquility evaded me; restful slumber, a distant memory. The allure of seeing her again transformed into an unsettling obsession."
As a headache loomed, I pressed my fingers to my forehead, trying to stave off the pain. 'Laayan', not again,' I whispered, exasperated. 'Haven't you caused enough hurt?' I thought aloud, questioning her motives. 'We've been through multiple breakups, and our relationship has crumbled. You claimed you didn't care, that I meant nothing to you. So, what's driving you to come to me now? What do you want from me?' My inner turmoil was interrupted by her voice. 'Maheer' I just want an apology,' she said, her lips pursed in a childish pout, reminiscent of a toddler seeking comfort from their mother,She took me on a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about our first date, the spark that ignited our relationship, the joy of our wedding day, and the heart-wrenching reasons that ultimately drove her to seek a divorce."
Anger simmered beneath my surface, but Laayan's presence ignited the fuse. 'Leave my office, now!' I growled, my eyes flashing with warning. 'You don't want to see me unleashed.'
I spun my chair away, as tears threatened. The door clicked shut behind her, and I exhaled heavily. Self-recrimination washed over me, revisiting past heartaches. How could I outrun my demons? How long would destiny haunt me, for how long fate will torment me?
My rage boiled over. 'I hate you, Laayan!' I shouted, pounding the table. 'You're the root of all my misery. Why must you torment me?'
As the storm subsided, a calm resolve emerged. I pulled out my diary, grasped my pen, ready to confront my story the words began to flow"
